AR15s For Hunting - Europe vs USA

I was recently involved in a test of more than ten AR15s for hunting, including a number of brands from both Europe and the USA. To fire guns with free ammo and let others know what you think about them is always great fun, and this occasion was no exception. The testing involved both shooting in an indoor cinema and outdoors. The good thing with the cinema was that due to the low light, it was difficult to see what kind of brand and rifle I was using, to avoid any bias to a particular brand.

TFB Review: TYPE A M110 Restomod

Welcome back to another TFB review. In my last review, I took a look at the SIG Sauer MCX Spear LT and if you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to check it out. There've been a number of large framed AR10s to hit the market. Knights Armament made the absolute iconic M110 but never really offered something similar to the civilian market. There are a number of companies that make models similar to the original M110 with modern upgrades. I decided to purchase a TYPE A M110 Restomod to see what it's all about. After a year of ownership, I decided it was the right time to give my thoughts on my experiences.

TFB Review: The Munitionworks MOD J - The Modernized SPR

The history of the battlefield is littered with tales of shooters, and their rifles accomplishing monumental feats of marksmanship with their trusty standard service weapons. While a lot of these feats are often played up for morale or even entirely fabricated, some guys and their rifles truly did have a knack for being pinpoint shooters on the battlefield. Fast forward to 2002 and that concept became an entire dedicated weapons system and its own class of dedicated battlefield marksmen. I’m of course talking about the SPR concept. While the idea of being accurate at long range with a standard service rifle has been in the works for centuries, the Special Purpose Rifle or SPR is a specific type of rifle, typically chambered in 5.56, meant to fill the role of a DMR (designated marksman rifle) without the need for an entirely different cartridge just for that rifle. Today we’ll be reviewing the Munitionworks MOD J SPR - a rifle that is intended to perform at the level as the original Mk 12 SPR, but with a few modernizations that make it a better fit for 2024’s shooters.

POTD: Swedish Snipers With Sako TRG M10 and Colt C20

Photo Of The Day and we have some interesting images from the Danish International Sniper Competition (DISC 24). These are from the Sniper Race Finale, which is the last event where the competitors have to cover 10 kilometers and 6 different shooting ranges. We’re looking at the Swedish Sniper Team in their M/90 camouflage pattern. What’s unusual is that they’re using the Colt Canada C20 which is not part of their normal arsenal. It could be a Danish rifle, on loan for the event? Another oddity is to use a normal mount on the C20, and Cantilever on the M10, when the other way around would make much more sense.

Finally, the AR market has caught up to where it was in the 1980s!
