Today’s Photo of the Day comes from an eye-catching listing on GunBroker, featuring a striking POF‑USA P415 that has been finished in a full nickel plating. The rifle originates from Patriot Ordnance Factory, a company known for producing piston-driven AR-pattern rifles and other fun components.

India’s SSS Defence has formally confirmed its intent to participate in the UK Ministry of Defence’s Project Grayburn program. The company states that its decision follows successful domestic deliveries and reflects confidence in its current small-arms portfolio. Let’s have a look!

After 16 years of service, the Danish Defense Forces are transitioning from the M/10 to the new GV M/25 C8 MRR. I never understood why the HK line of rifles was drastically more expensive than other options on the market. I decided to take the plunge and purchase one so we can find out what the buzz is all about with this German tank of a rifle. Let's take a closer look at the Heckler & Koch MR556 A4 rifle.

The AR-15 has become the most prolific modern rifle in America—and for good reason. Back in the summer of 2025 we got the first word that Hakan Spuhr, the Swedish inventor and master machinist who brought us innovations like the Spuhr stock, his unique mounting interface system and some of the best optics mounts available, had developed an AR-15 upper receiver. At the Mile High booth I was excited to get a close up look at one of the uppers and have Hakan kindly talk me through his design’s features.

And since that’s where Daniel Defense plays, they’re aiming for the future with a new prototype rifle, displayed at SHOT Show, which just might be their premier offering when it debuts. It’s called the DD4 X1.

FN UK has been awarded the UK Police Primary Carbine System (PPCS) Framework Agreement with its FN 15 Advanced Semi-Automatic Rifle (ASR), making the platform available for adoption across UK police forces. With the framework now in place, all UK police services are able to procure the FN 15 ASR as an approved primary carbine option.

We are in the run-up to SHOT Show 2026, and new product releases are starting to roll in. Ruger's lineup of AR-15 rifles is undergoing some changes for 2026. The new Harrier models replace the AR-556 family and include some updated features.

The requirements are specific and clearly written by people who actually use rifles. The Secret Service wants a rifle that's no taller than 8 inches without accessories, weighs no more than 8 pounds including suppressor, and measures no longer than 29 inches with the stock folded and suppressor attached. Barrel length must fall between 12.25 and 14 inches.

Photo Of The Day: We are looking at the CNC Firearms Faxon Exclusive AR-15 pistol, one of a sequentially numbered run limited to just 1 of 338 builds. Chambered in .338 ARC, this compact pistol is said to marry large-bore ballistics with a maneuverable footprint, a rare combination aimed equally at serious shooters and collectors. The images highlight the 12.5-inch Faxon Match Series Gunner Profile threaded barrel and MuzzLok muzzle device, the lightweight Faxon X-TRA Lite receiver set, and the 10-inch M-LOK handguard with full-length Picatinny for mounting optics and accessories.

Photo Of The Day and one of the few builds with irons only is on display. The builder and photographer is Holt Works Photography, showing off his new 7.5” 556 FRT (Forced Reset Trigger). The rail and buffer tube is Cerakoted in slate grey, with some bright wire added in to lighten it up. The upper is FDE with some white added. The lower from Palmetto State Armory uses a Troy Coyote Tan, also with some bright white mixed in. In my opinion, some of the best Cerakotes I’ve seen ran mixed colors, but it’s difficult to do the same thing twice.

SIG Sauer has introduced the SIG516 G3, positioned as the latest, battle-ready evolution of the 516 family. Developed with more than a decade of piston-rifle engineering and tested worldwide, the SIG516 G3 was refined in New Hampshire to deliver a rugged, durable platform for demanding field use. The rifle runs a short-stroke piston with an adjustable gas system for tunable reliability across ammunition and environmental conditions. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, it features a 16-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel with a 1:7” twist rate.

Sons of Liberty Gun Works (SOLGW) has announced a limited-production run of MK1 rifles finished in historically inspired Frog Skin camouflage to mark the U.S. Marine Corps’ 250th birthday. The special edition recreates WWII-era Frog Skin patterns used in the Pacific Campaign and will be available in Jungle and Beach variants.

Colt has expanded its Enhanced Patrol Rifle (EPR) family with four new SKUs, the EPR II and EPR II PRO variants. The updates apply Colt’s current technical data package (TDP) components alongside MIL‑SPEC materials, coatings and manufacturing processes.

Photo Of The Day, where we continue to look at interesting firearms (and their names) from around the World. Today, it’s time for the Schmeisser Messerschmitt AR15 Swedish Hunter Edition, made in Germany. This rifle was designed specifically for Swedish hunters in response to recent legislative changes that made hunting with AR-15s legal. Unfortunately, that legislation changed for the worse just as quickly and the Government is preparing to confiscate them all, and a few more.

When someone asks me what AR to buy, there are two questions I always ask back: What are you intending to use the gun for, and what is your budget? If the answer to the first question is “working as a military contractor in a war zone,” then the answer to the second question should be high. However, for many people, an AR will perform some combination of duties like coyote blaster, soda can hunter, carbine class tool, and home defense gun. It is possible to get a lot of gun without breaking the bank, but some guns are much better deals than others.

I know a great photo when I see one, and for this Photo Of The Day, things are spot on. Alright, let’s have some fun poking at white AR-15s, those pristine, alabaster rifles that look like they’re ready for a photoshoot at a hipster coffee shop. I mean, who paints their AR-15 white?

Recently, the TROY Defender PSW in 5.56 was released, and many asked for the obvious. That has now been fixed, as the 300 Blackout version of the TROY Defender PSW is now available on their website. For this Photo Of The Day, we have a mix of images of the 5.56 and the new 300 BLK version. Which caliber would you prefer? As much as I like the 5.56, I think it needs a longer barrel, so I’d go for the 300 BLK, which also would suppress a lot better.

Springfield Armory has refreshed the Saint line of rifles and pistols. They sent a pinned-and-welded rifle out early for review so I could run it prior to release. Across a range of shooting situations it has proven to be a solid example of the current state of the AR-15.

Bushmaster Firearms has launched the V-Radicator 22ARC Pistol, a new addition to its V-Radicator series, designed for varmint hunters seeking a compact, accurate, and versatile firearm. The V-Radicator 22ARC Pistol features a 12.5” 4150 CMV barrel with a 1:7 twist, optimized for the 22ARC cartridge. It includes a mid-length gas system, an A2 flash hider, an SB Tactical SBA5 5-position adjustable pistol stabilizing brace, a Magpul MOE grip, and a DM2S 2-stage trigger. The pistol comes with one BFI stainless steel 22ARC magazine.

Who doesn’t want a Personal Survival Weapon? The TROY Defender PSW is a compact carbine said to be designed for reliability and versatility in demanding situations. Measuring just 22 inches with the stock collapsed, it’s built for self-defense, predator control, or easy transport in tight spaces.

When it comes to the AR15 market, there are endless choices and out of every subcategory in the gun industry, the AR market is one of the most saturated. It’s hard to stand out, and when I review a particular firearm, it’s hard to see the differences between the various models on the market. The higher-end market is where you start to see some interesting variations where companies are trying different features to improve the weapon system as a whole.

Smith & Wesson has announced the launch of its new M&P15 AXE Rifle Series, said to be designed for reliability and performance, particularly for suppressed shooting. The series includes four models, all chambered in 5.56 NATO, featuring a 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers, ambidextrous controls, a Radian Raptor charging handle, Williams folding sights, and an M&P grip with four interchangeable backstraps.

James Reeves is in Austria at Austria Arms with Martin, checking out one of the rarest AR-15 variants you’ve never heard of: the Steyr STM-556. This rifle combines Steyr AUG DNA with an AR-15 layout—featuring a quick-change barrel, proprietary monolithic upper, a piston gas system, and some truly bizarre ergonomics. Only 300 of these were ever made for the commercial market. Is this a misunderstood military rifle, or just an expensive oddball? The .300 Winchester Short Magnum and 6.5 Precision Rifle Cartridge are pretty popular among long-range shooters and hunters, providing a magnum performance in a much shorter package. Most of the guns chambered in these cartridges are bolt-action rifles, however, if you want a gas gun in .300 WSM or 6.5 PRC, there is at least one (likely the only) option on the market - the Kaliber Tech KT10 Longbow semi-auto rifle. The company claims the KT10 Longbow is the first commercially available semi-auto rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC and 300 WSM.
