EPR II and EPR II PRO: Colt’s Latest Enhanced Patrol Rifle Offerings

Colt has expanded its Enhanced Patrol Rifle (EPR) family with four new SKUs, the EPR II and EPR II PRO variants. The updates apply Colt’s current technical data package (TDP) components alongside MIL‑SPEC materials, coatings and manufacturing processes.

Want to go short and loud? Choose Colt’s 11.5” version.

Both EPR II models (LE6920‑EPRII, LE6933‑EPRII) are offered suppressor‑ready and come in 11.5‑ and 16‑inch barrel lengths. They share a free‑floating rail that incorporates Magpul M‑LOK attachment slots, a full‑length MIL‑STD‑1913 Picatinny top rail, anti‑rotation tabs and two integrated steel QD sling swivel sockets. Colt describes the rail as a lightweight, rigid mounting surface intended to support optic and accessory setups while allowing precise eye relief and consistent cheek welds.

The new Colt Enhanced Patrol Rifle II with a 16” barrel.

Standard EPR II ergonomics include an ambidextrous safety selector, an enhanced trigger guard, Magpul MBUS 3 folding iron sights and a Magpul MOE SL buttstock.

The EPR II PRO variants (LE6920‑EPRII‑PRO, LE6933‑EPRII‑PRO) add a set of user-oriented controls and upgrades: an ambidextrous magazine catch, a Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, a Magpul MOE‑K2 pistol grip, Magpul MBUS Pro folding sights and a QD receiver end plate. I use the K2+ pistol grip (with a rubber-like finish) on most of my rifles, as I like the more straight angle of the K2s. The Radian Raptors are also a solid choice.

Colt positions the EPR evolution as a platform intended to serve law enforcement units, military partners and commercial customers that require a modern carbine with modular mounting options and contemporary control ergonomics. The new models reflect Colt’s integration of proprietary processes with certified MIL‑SPEC materials in the company’s current carbine lineup.

The four EPR II SKUs are live on Colt’s website and available for order. Unfortunately, I could not find any pricing. Check the new rifles here: https://www.colt.com/product-category/mle/rifles-mil-leo/

Might pick one up if I ever see one. MSRP $1,449-$1,749. I only ever see CR6920 around me. I did miss out on an LE6940 a few years ago.

There are a few places that still have some of the last batch if you're willing to pay the better part of $1500 before tax/shipping. United Patriot Supply, Grove Gun Shop, and Rifle Gear.

You may see another batch come next year. LMT's monolithic upper patent expires August 16, 2026.
