The Scope Bumper - A New Approach To Scope Covers
The Scope BumperĀ is a new take on the traditional scope cover, designed not only to protect the lenses but also to shield the optic housing from impacts and contact during field use. The system consists of three parts that work together to protect the scope from end impacts and incidental bumps. The outer cover and cap are made from a carbon fiber polymer that provides structural durability, helping to protect the lens and bell housing from hard objects or obstacles.
Most models include an internal bumper made from a strong, pliable, and shock-absorbing material that resists tearing and deformation. This component extends over much of the bell housing, helping to cushion the optic from direct impacts and glancing blows. The front section is thicker and compressible, intended to absorb force that might otherwise damage the housing or lens.
Unlike many traditional scope covers, the Scope Bumper has a low-profile, folding cap design that minimizes interference with the shooterās field of view. The cap snaps shut with light pressure and opens with a finger flick, remaining folded close to the scope body when open. This feature is particularly useful on optics where the ocular housing rotates with magnification adjustment.
The Scope Bumper is available in half-millimeter size increments to fit a wide range of optics, and they also provide a search tool so you can find yours. The manufacturer states that users can contact them directly for custom-fit options if their scope model is not listed.
I havenāt tried to confirm it, but these folding caps are said to be useful for scopes where the ocular housing rotates when you change magnification.
The smallest Scope Bumper covers use a single-piece, non-folding cap design similar in size to the turrets on most small form-factor scopes, so they hide away tucked up close to the main tube.
There are also versions without a bumper for compact LPVOs where there is very little room for an objective cover in front of the mounting rings.
The price is stated to be in the region between $49.95 and $94.95.
Apart from what youāve just seen, they also have Weapon Light CoversĀ and a whole lot of other clever products. 3D printing can really accomplish so many new cool things. What do you think of these?

Looks like they took the idea from One Hundred Concepts and added complexity. They've been doing caps like this for some time.
I used to improvise something like this using "bikini" covers and duct tape...
