PSA’s retro rifle brand Harrington & Richardson had a new crop of old M-16 rifle clones on display at SHOT Show 2026. These new models recreate some very rare guns. Keep reading to see which models are coming back.

SHOT 2026 @ TFB:

605

The Model 605 was one of the first attempts to shorten the barrel on an M-16. It is a standard M-16, but with the barrel chopped back to the front sight post. The resulting barrel on the original was just over 15 inches, and the H&R model is the same. The three-prong flash hider is pinned and welded to reach that magic 16-inch threshold, so this is a standard rifle under US law. One difference from the original is the gas system. Rather than using a large gas port on a rifle gas system with almost no dwell time, H&R opted for a hidden carbine-length gas system under the handguard. It also differs from the original by having a 1/7 twist barrel. The H&R 605 is coming in February.

606 “SAW”

The Model 606 was a squad automatic version of the basic M-16. It incorporated a heavier barrel profile and a folding bipod mounted by the muzzle. The bipod was used on the M14 rifle, and it used a special hanger from the barrel as the mounting point. With the bipod and heavier barrel, it weighs in at just under ten pounds. The 606 should be available in February.

607 Carbine

The Model 607 carbine was the next attempt after the 605. It incorporates a collapsible stock built from a modified fixed stock using a locking lever in the butt plate, and a shortened set of triangle handguards. This model was released recently and is available from PSA now.

T48

This is obviously not an M-16 variant. The T-48 was a US military trials version of the FN FAL, which was “beaten” by the M-14. The H&R version is still coming and is expected to be released in the next few months. The price point is not released yet, but it is a collector-grade gun with wood furniture, so expect the MSRP to be in line with that.

I’m more curious to know if H&R has their own FAL receiver castings. DSA blows, and I hope they aren’t the OEM.
