Mossberg 590R/RM Shotguns Now With Chisel Machining Folding Stocks
Mossberg has expanded its 590R and 590RM pump-action shotgun lineup with the introduction of the new 590R Chisel and 590RM Chisel, developed in collaboration with Chisel Machining. These new configurations pair Mossberg’s pistol-grip rotary safety platform with Chisel Machining’s folding stock mount, adding compact handling and enhanced ergonomics to the 590R/RM series.
The 590R series uses a pistol-grip, rotary safety selector and retains core Mossberg features such as dual extractors, positive steel-to-steel lockup, twin action bars, and an anti-jam elevator for consistent feeding and operation. The line’s ergonomically shaped forend and integrated barrel/heat shield combination support practical use in defensive and tactical settings.
In the new full-size configuration, the model equipped with an 18.5-inch barrel delivers a balanced shooting platform with traditional tube-fed capacity. Its receiver and components are finished in Flat Dark Earth Cerakote for corrosion resistance and durability.
For operators prioritizing compact maneuverability, the magazine-fed version pairs an 11.5-inch barrel with a detachable 10-round box magazine, offering increased firepower in a shorter package. Both configurations include the Chisel folding stock system that allows the adjustable length-of-pull stock to fold alongside the receiver for storage or transport without sacrificing stability when unfolded.
Standard features of the 590R/590RM family include an ambidextrous rotary safety reachable without shifting grip, a flat-profile trigger for a clean break, and a Picatinny top rail optimized for optics, along with accessory-ready M-LOK slots on select models. These enhancements make the new models adaptable for a range of professional and enthusiast applications.
