[SHOT 2026] Shield Sights Introduce Clear-Roof OMSx Competition RedDot

This week at SHOT Show 2026 Shield Sights have just announced their new OMSx competition sight which combines the translucent roof design which was introduced last year on the OMSsc. The OMSx has the same wide viewing window as Shield Sights’ popular RMSx but combined with the translucent roof it creates the visual effect of an even larger window. Shield Sights say this allows shooters to pick up the dot faster and track targets more intuitively under speed and stress.

The OMSx is a small package but its design required some really impressive materials science and engineering. It combines three materials; transparent acrylic for the roof/hood, T6 aluminium for the housing and a glass lens - all bonded together and capable of withstanding drop tests. Shield Sights explained that the idea behind the OMSx is to get more light into the sight, especially on indoor ranges.

The OMSx shares the same RMSc footprint as all Shield pistol sights and will easily mount on a wide variety of factory pistols on the market. It shares the SHIELD standard footprint,

allowing direct mounting on slides cut for SHIELD RMSc/SMSc-pattern optics and enabling

co-witness with standard-height iron sights. The OMSx is available in 4 MOA and 8 MOA dot versions.

Here’s a rundown of the OMSx Key Features:

- Translucent roof architecture for enhanced brightness and field of view

- Wide viewing window inspired by the RMSx competition optic

- Aerospace-grade anodized T6 6082 aluminum housing

- Zero-magnification clear lens with anti-reflective coating

- Automatic brightness adjustment that is always on, always ready

- Available in 4 MOA and 8 MOA dot options

- SHIELD standard footprint for direct mounting compatibility

- IP67 rated for dust and water resistance

The OMSx has an MSRP of $489.99. You can find more information on the OMSx and the full SHIELD Sights lineup at www.shieldsights.com.

If you get a chance to update this, a photo down the sight to see how effective it is would be nice. Interesting product.

Every angle but the one that matters the most.
