Vortex Introduces Multiple Sport Riflescope Rings

Vortex has released its Sport line of riflescope rings, providing new mounting options for a range of hunting and shooting setups. The rings are offered in multiple tube diameters and heights to match different optics and rifle configurations. The Sport rings use a horizontal split design with chamfered edges, a construction intended to reduce the risk of marking or deforming the optic tube when tightened to the recommended torque. They are compatible with both Picatinny and Weaver-style rails.

Vortex Optics @ TFB:

The Vortex rings are made from 6061 aluminum, have a type 2 low-glare matte black anodized surface finish, an integrated recoil lug and laser-engraved torque specifications. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of parts with essays written all over them, I’d rather have a clean look.

This summer, I had a 1” tubed thermal that needed some rings, and I was surprised to see how hard it was to find a quality mount, so it is nice to see some more options on the market.

The 1.5” extra high mounts look really high in this image.

Here are the options from Vortex, including recommended pricing:

30mm Sport Riflescope Rings Available in Low (.80"), Medium (.90"), High (1.1"), and Extra High (1.5") MSRP: $49.99

1" Sport Riflescope Rings Available in Low (.80"), Medium (.90"), High (1.1"), and Extra High (1.5") MSRP: $49.99

The box comes with 2 Sport riflescope rings, 2 additional Torx T-25 screws and a Torx® T-25 wrench. I love it when companies supply some extra screws; it’s like they know one or two will go missing on the floor, never to be found again.
