Federal’s 2026 New Centerfire Rifle Ammunition
As suppressor use continues to shape both rifle design and ammunition development, Federal Ammunition is expanding its centerfire rifle offerings for 2026 with a mix of new product lines and additional loadings across established platforms. The updates reflect a growing demand for suppressor-optimized performance as well as continued interest in long-range hunting and AR-based cartridges.
Headlining the announcement is the introduction of Federal Subsonic, a new product line engineered for consistent performance at subsonic velocities when used with suppressors. The launch includes four cartridges designed to balance noise reduction with reliable terminal performance: Fusion 30-30 Winchester 170-grain, Fusion 45-70 Government 300-grain, Fusion Tipped .308 Winchester 190-grain, and .300 Blackout 190-grain. Each load is intended to provide controlled expansion at lower velocities. I can think of quite a few rifles that TFB has covered lately that will be happy to consume some of those cartridges.
Federal is also expanding its Terminal Ascent lineup with two new bonded hunting loads: 6.5mm PRC 140-grain and .300 Remington Ultra Magnum 175-grain. Terminal Ascent bullets combine high ballistic coefficients with nickel-plated cases and Federal’s Slipstream polymer tip to promote consistent expansion at extended ranges.
The Berger Elite Hunter line gains a new 7mm PRC 195-grain offering. Built around Berger’s thin-jacketed, high-BC hunting bullet, the load is designed for accuracy and terminal effectiveness at long distances.
For AR-15 shooters, Federal adds three new 6mm ARC options: American Eagle TMJ 110-grain, Fusion Tipped 110-grain, and Gold Medal Berger BT Target 108-grain, covering training, hunting, and precision target use.
Rounding out the announcement is a Golden Boy Collector’s Edition .45-70 Government 300-grain Jacketed Soft Point load, developed in collaboration with Henry Repeating Arms and packaged to complement Henry’s 250th anniversary Golden Boy rifle. I have to say that I love the design of the box.
These new centerfire rifle offerings will be on display at the 2026 SHOT Show, January 20-23, at Booth #11838. More details about the new products for 2026 will be found on Federal's website soon after the SHOT Show: https://www.federalpremium.com/
