Kimber’s 2K11 Gets a Comp: Four New Models Arrive for 2026
Kimber Manufacturing has expanded its 2K11 lineup with the introduction of the new 2K11 Comp series, answering one of the most common requests since the platform’s debut in late 2024. Just over a year after the original 2K11 launch, the addition of compensated variants marks the next evolutionary step for Kimber’s high-capacity, 1911-style handgun family.
Set to debut in January 2026, the 2K11 Comp lineup includes four models total, offered in black or stainless finishes. Shooters can choose between a full-size configuration with a 5-inch barrel or a Pro-size model featuring a 4.25-inch barrel. All versions incorporate an integrated compensator positioned forward of the front sight, a feature aimed at reducing muzzle rise and improving controllability during rapid fire.
The new models also introduce Kimber’s carbon fiber grip module, a notable update intended to balance weight savings with rigidity. Select variants are further equipped with a Stan Chen Customs magwell and TAG Precision steel optic adapter plates, reflecting Kimber’s continued emphasis on durability and optics compatibility. Like the rest of the 2K11 family, the Comp models retain a toolless guide rod system, external extractor, and a crowned, fluted barrel. All are chambered in 9mm and will be available for immediate shipment, with retail availability expected as early as January.
Pedi Gega, Director of product development, assembly and finishing, stated in the press release:
"The 2K11 Comp is the culmination of years of preparation and hundreds of thousands of rounds of testing to deliver the most fully featured comprehensive handgun we have ever produced. The new 2K11 family of compensated models creates the highest class of firearms for the discerning enthusiast and competitive shooter."
