I love new products that push the boundaries of what’s possible within optics, and it seems SIG Sauer has something to look forward to. The new OSCAR6 HDX PRO is called a ground-breaking spotting scope, using SIG's optical image Stabilization.

The SIG SAUER OSCAR6 HDX PRO spotting scope comes finished in Flat Dark Earth (FDE). It features a variable magnification range of 16x to 32x with a 60mm objective lens.

The spotting scope uses a roof prism design and uses HDX glass. The system also includes advanced image stabilization, which is said to be especially effective when paired with its OmniScan OIS technology.

The optics are fully protected with a suite of coatings, including SpectraCoat™, Lens Armor™, HDX PRO coatings, and Lens Shield™, ensuring durability and performance in harsh environments. A rugged ARCA-SWISS tripod mount is built in for easy compatibility with professional tripods, a must today if you ask me.

The OSCAR6 HDX PRO is waterproof to IPX-7 standards and is backed by the SIG SAUER Electro-Optic Infinite Guarantee.

I recently used another spotting scope with an iPhone attachment to record steel hits at over 800 yards. The result was far above my expectations, and I think a stabilization system will only enhance the results.

“SIG SAUER’s revolutionary Optical Image Stabilization™ technology continues to push boundaries and is now available in the OSCAR6™ HDX PRO image stabilized spotting scope,” said Andy York, President, Electro-Optics. “The OSCAR6™ HDX PRO redefines what’s possible in field optics and provides clarity in motion to our elite end-users who trust and expect SIG SAUER to deliver transformational systems.”

The OmniScan™ OIS uses a digital accelerometer to improve image stabilization by adjusting the level of correction based on your movement and vibration. SIG provided a sample image below.

Eye relief ranges from 22mm to 16mm, and the field of view spans 2.4 to 3.4 degrees, with a minimum focusing distance of just 5 meters. The focal plane is second, usually ideal for spotting in varied lighting and distance conditions.

The overall length is 11.5 inches and the weight is 55.2 ounces, with batteries installed.

This spotting scope is purpose-built for hunting and long-range precision shooting.

I would have loved it if SIG had included some kind of MIL (or MOA) based reticle, so it could have been used to provide exact and measured shot corrections for spotters.

At the time of writing, these are actually in stock and shipping already. The price is $1,999.99. The direct link can be found here: https://www.sigsauer.com/oscar6tm-hdx-pro.html
