New Derya DY9 ISLAND Pistol with Ported Island Barrel and RMR Cut

Derya Arms has released the DY9 ISLAND, a 9mm pistol featuring an island barrel setup typically seen on high-end competition handguns. Alongside the full pistol, Derya is also offering a standalone upper compatible with both their DY9 frame and Glock 19 Gen 4 platforms.
Derya Arms @ TFB:
The island barrel design moves mass to the barrel itself and includes four top-mounted gas ports, which Derya claims reduce muzzle rise by 25% and felt recoil by 12%. The design aims to support flatter shooting and quicker follow-up shots. A fixed front sight sits on the non-reciprocating barrel, while the slide comes optic-ready with an RMR footprint cut.
The pistol is offered in both 10- and 15-round configurations and includes a lighter-weight slide to assist in quicker target transitions. Intended for a mix of home defense, competition, and range use, the DY9 ISLAND offers some competition-oriented features without requiring a full custom build.
For those wanting to upgrade existing frames, the DY9 ISLAND Complete Upper is available separately. It offers the same ported barrel and optic-ready slide and fits either DY9 or Glock 19 Gen 4 frames.
“Derya Arms is committed to making competition-grade performance accessible,” says Abdullah Celer, President of Derya Arms. “The DY9 ISLAND takes a classic Island Barrel Design and makes it available to every shooter, with a pistol and interchangeable upper that deliver sharpshooter accuracy.”
“The Island Barrel was a challenge we embraced with passion,” adds Harry Burleigh, VP of Manufacturing. “By streamlining production, we’ve integrated a feature once exclusive to high-end firearms, achieving an estimated 25% muzzle rise reduction and 12% recoil reduction, ensuring every shooter can experience the difference.”
Both the DY9 ISLAND pistol and upper are currently available through U.S. distributors, including Lipsey’s, RSR, and Sports South. The MSRP of the DY9 ISLAND Pistol is $599 and the DY9 ISLAND Upper costs $299.
