Ruger RXM Levels Up: Threaded Barrel for Just $70 More

For 70 bucks more, there’s now an obvious choice for those looking to buy a Ruger RXM. The pistol in itself is the same, with all the essentials a customer can really wish for, but with the addition of a threaded barrel. The pre-installed threaded barrel offers a lovely accessory compatibility straight from the box, and a relatively inexpensive start for those who would like to discover shooting a pistol with a suppressor. Plus, in my opinion, the RXM looks better in this version.

The new RXM retains the same modularity, with added customization options to suit your preferences.

The list of features of the RXM is not new, apart from the threading, but for clarity, here they are again:

  • Removable serialized stainless steel Fire Control Insert (FCI) set inside an interchangeable Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG) for maximum flexibility and customization.
  • Most major components are designed to operate in Gen 3-type pistols and are compatible with many off-the-shelf holsters and accessories.
  • The Magpul EHG offers consumers premium features including Magpul's 3/4-scale TSP texture for a secure grip without discomfort or damage to clothing during concealed carry and textured indexing pads for consistent finger / thumb placement.
  • Other EHG features include: a low-profile, flared magazine well for quick and easy magazine insertion; a trigger guard undercut and beaver tail that promote a high grip for better control; a magazine release scallop for easy access; and a universal-pattern accessory rail for use with a variety of lights and lasers.
  • 1/2"-28 threaded barrel with factory-installed thread protector allows for the attachment of popular muzzle accessories.
  • Additional heavier 18 lb guide rod / recoil spring assembly that can be used to help tune the pistol to your chosen suppressor and ammunition.
  • Extended magazine release and raised slide stop.
  • Slide allows for direct optic mounting of RMR, Delta Point Pro (DPP), and RMSc pattern optics. Co-witness-height steel sights feature a tritium night front sight, providing an excellent sight picture, with or without an optic installed.
  • Striker-fired with a flat-faced trigger, smooth trigger pull and tactile reset.
  • Precision rifled alloy steel barrel with FNC nitride finish.
  • Safety features include integrated trigger safety, internal striker blocker and inspection port that allows for visual confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber.
  • Also includes: two Magpul PMAG 15 GL9 15-round magazines and co-branded plastic carry case.

One modularity that I (and other "set in our ways" old farts just like me) would have liked to see would be a manual safety option, along with a larger magazine grip length (and possibly shorter also) ... otherwise, just another fish in an overcrowded lake.

This should not be an Option.

This should be how they all come standard.
