Aimpoint Releases Duty RDS MR with Multi-Reticle System

Aimpoint, the company that developed the first red dot sight, has introduced the Duty RDS MR, its first optic with a selectable Multi-Reticle (MR) system. The sight provides three reticle options: a precision 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or a combination of both, allowing users to adapt to different scenarios.
Designed for law enforcement, professional users, and competitive shooters, the Duty RDS MR features a pressure-forged aluminum housing that is submersible to 25 meters (80 feet) and built to withstand shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
The Duty RDS MR includes instant-on motion activation and a side-loading battery compartment for efficient battery changes.
“With the DUTY RDS MR, we are expanding the AIMPOINT legacy by combining our proven design principles with new flexibility,” says Albert Rödfalk, senior product manager at Aimpoint AB. “It’s a robust solution built to meet the real-world needs of professionals.”
Aimpoint Duty RDS MR’s key features include:
- Multi-Reticle System: Toggle between dot, circle, or both for rapid acquisition and precision aiming.
- Motion Activation: Enters sleep mode after two hours of inactivity – instantly powers on with movement.
- Mission-Ready Durability: Waterproof to 25 m, shock- and vibration-resistant.
- Daylight & Night Vision Compatible: 12 brightness settings, including 4 for NVD.
- 3-Year Battery Life with setting 7. Powered by a single CR2032 battery.
TFB’s crew has extensive experience with the original Duty RDS, with no fewer than two reviews. You can find Luke C’s here: TFB Review: Aimpoint Duty RDS – T2's More Affordable Cousin. My own review included the use of magnifiers and a thermal clip-on, and is worth a read if you want to take the concept and use of a red dot a little further: TFB Review: Aimpoint Duty RDS with 3X-C Magnifier (+Thermal).
One usage people tend to forget with circle reticles is for shotguns. The center dot can be used for precision shots at a distance, with slugs, for instance. Depending on your choke, the circle reticle can also be used to produce very controlled hits with birdshot and buckshot. I’m also thinking that the red circle would be a great help on a shotgun focused on anti-drone duty. I think, however, most users will mount the Duty RDS MR on PCCs, rifles and carbines of all sorts.
The price is $649. (Duty RDS® Red Dot Sight - One-piece Torsion Nut Mount, 39mm - Multi Reticle Aimpoint® Item: 200985 UPC: 7350004387762). The weight is 3.9 oz / 110 g (sight only).
TFB is looking forward to reviewing the Duty RDS MR as soon as possible. What do you think of Aimpoint’s new Multi-Reticle?

I'll be selling off 2 or 3 of my optics with the same features for one of those. That way I'll have one rifle with a really tough optic and 1 or 2 with no optic.😎
Slow clap...
