The SIG Sauer P320-MAX 2.0 is the latest edition of the competition-ready P320 MAX series. This is a dedicated 9mm competition pistol developed in collaboration with Max Michel, Team SIG captain and world-record holder. The updated design builds on the original P320-MAX, with enhancements aimed squarely at high-level competitive shooters.

At its core is the tungsten-infused TXG XFULL grip module for added weight and recoil control. The pistol features a flat, skeletonized trigger, extended wrap-around slide serrations (including top serrations for overhand manipulations), and a match-grade 5” bull barrel.

The ROMEO3MAX red dot (6 MOA) comes pre-installed, plus Hogue Wrapter grip tape and four 21-round steel magazines. That should be enough to start with for most people. There’s also a version with 10-round magazines, for those who need to have them.

Other key upgrades include a one-piece stainless steel guide rod and a Springer Precision magazine release. The P320-MAX 2.0 also ships with both 14 lb and 12 lb 1911-style recoil springs, allowing shooters to tune recoil to their preferred load.

The P320-MAX 2.0 seems to bring most, if not all, competition-focused upgrades in a factory-ready package. Considering how much time I’ve spent modifying my competition pistols, I’d say this is a great way for beginners (and pros, actually, but they probably wouldn’t admit it) to get into competition shooting with a huge shortcut on equipment. Time spent modifying is time lost training at the range (or the gym).

The following images are from the recent SIG NEXT 2025 event. Can you guess whose pistol this is?

Are you in the market for a competition handgun? Are you impressed by these upgrades? The comments section is always available for feedback.

    Comes with the auto-trigger technology?

  • Will now discharge into your leg twice as fast. Also, what the hell is going on with that optic height? We want optics to sit lower, and they just added a giant steel brick to make it taller.
