At SHOT Show 2026, Steiner introduced a new enclosed emitter handgun red dot sight called MPS-C. Based on the MPS design, this new red dot is noticeably shorter (1.89” vs 1.46”) and lighter (2.05 oz vs 1.13 oz) than its elder sibling. At the same time, the MPS-C has slightly larger objective lens dimensions (21x19mm vs 20x16mm).

This is the list of main features of the new Steiner MPS-C reflex sight as described by the manufacturer:

  • Ultra-Compact Design. Specifically engineered for slimline and subcompact pistols, the MPS-C features an exceptionally low profile that integrates seamlessly with modern slide-mounted platforms. It minimizes visual obstruction and mechanical interference – ideal for fast-paced dynamic disciplines.
  • Crisp 1.6 MOA Red Dot. The fine 1.6 MOA dot offers a perfect balance between speed and precision. Bright, sharp, and clearly visible under all lighting conditions, it enables lightning-fast target acquisition without compromising shot placement – critical for stage performance.
  • Fully Enclosed Housing. The sealed optical system protects against dust, dirt, moisture, and impact – making it the ideal choice for intense match conditions, outdoor ranges, and demanding environments. Reliable function, no matter the scenario.
  • Extremely Lightweight. Weighing just 32 grams, the MPS-C is up to 40% lighter than comparable red dots. This reduces slide mass, enhances pistol balance, and shortens recovery times – translating directly into faster follow-up shots and improved rhythm during rapid strings.
  • Proven MPS Platform. Built on the same trusted foundation as the original MPS, the MPS-C brings Steiner’s renowned durability and optical quality into a format optimized for competitive use. You get rugged performance and intuitive operation – now tailored for the demands of sport shooting.

Other than the above-listed features, Steiner MPS-C red dot sights have a 50 MOA windage and elevation adjustment range with 1MOA per click. The sight is powered by a CR1632 battery and has an advertised battery life of 144 to 45,125 hours across its 12 brightness settings (most common use medium settings 5-7 should get you 22,000 - 18,000 hours). The housing is made of aluminum with a black anodized finish. The operating temperatures of this optic are (-40˚ F to 140˚ F) and its waterproofing rating is 10 meters. The MSRP of the Steiner MPS-C red dot sight is $574.99.

"battery life of 46 to 144 hours" wtf. Good thing it has an easy side battery because it's going to need replacing often.
