[SHOT 2026] South Korea's SNT Defense Planning 2026 Launch!
Last year at SHOT 2025 we broke the exciting news that SNT Defense were going to establish a base in the US and begin selling some of their iconic guns. These things take time to set up but the wait shouldn’t be too much longer.
This year SNT Defense has graduated out of the SHOT Show basement and their upgraded booth displayed a wide range of their portfolio including pistols, rifles, and machine guns.
TFB caught up with SNT Defense this week at SHOT 2026. They confirmed that they are currently focused on bringing three firearms to the US: The DP51 pistol, the iconic K2S and the STSM21S pistol calibre carbine. This means SNT Defense will be offering two of their most iconic designs and one of their newest.
In addition to the standard DP51 they also had the DP51C and DP51 MkII on display.
SNT Defense is still working on setting up their US-based manufacturing facility in Las Vegas, NV. They are aiming to produce at least 30% of the various weapons’ components there, with the rest imported from South Korea. Notably some of the guns on display now had SNT Defense’s Las Vegas address engraved on them.
The DP51 is likely to be the first product to launch in the US with a target date of sometime between Q1 and Q2 2026. The pistol will be followed by the K2S, the semi-auto version of the K2, which the ATF have already provided an evaluation letter for. SNT Defense hope that that will also be available later in 2026, they hope to have more details soon.
Finally, the most intriguing gun they plan to initially bring to the US market - the STSM21S, a semi-auto only version of their STSM21 submachine gun. The STSM21S is an extremely well built gun with some interesting features including a delayed blowback action, and the ability to switch the charging handle side with the push of the QD button.
SNT Defense explained to TFB that they’re committed to the US market long term and excited to bring their firearms to the US but don’t want to rush and instead are committed to prioritising “consistent quality and long-term trust”. They are now working to establish a distributor network that can bring their products to the market. As soon as we have more information we’ll keep you guys updated.

I can hardly wait for the K2s !
Why don't they just import their rifles and carbines as "Pistols" and get them over here NOW. They can sell the shoulder stocks separately and buyers can just add a stock to the 16" "Pistols" or SBR the shorter variants on their own. This would be way cheaper than building parts kits in Vegas.
