Gunwerks Introduces The GOAT Bolt Action Rifle System
The launch edition Gunwerks GOAT rifle will be available chambered in 6.5 PRC or 7 PRC. The carbon fiber wrapped 18” barrels are made of 416 stainless steel, have a C20 contour (.750” at the muzzle) and are fitted with Gunwerks Directional Muzzle Brakes. The rifle is built on the Gunwerks GLR Ti action with pinned 20-MOA Picatinny rail sections on the receiver rings for optics mounting. The ClymR carbon fiber stock has a standard length of pull of 13.5” with 12.75" - 14.5" LOP available optionally. The forearm comes with a forward 1913 rail for attaching bipods, and a mid ARCA rail will also be offered as an option. The bottom metal has a hinged floorplate design. The pull weight of the TriggerTech Primary trigger, which this rifle comes equipped with, is two pounds. The overall length of the rifle is 38.5”. The custom Cerakote camouflage on the buttstock is also launch-edition-specific.
NEW Derya RAN, RAN Ironwolf and RAN-X Lever Guns
Derya Arms is no stranger to taking an established platform and pushing it further than buyers expect at a certain price point, and the new RAN and RAN-X series might be the clearest expression of that philosophy yet. The Turkish-American manufacturer has launched three lever-action models built around a straightforward premise: stop making buyers spend hundreds of dollars on aftermarket modifications to get where they want to be. Everything enthusiasts have historically sourced separately, threaded barrels, M-LOK forends, Picatinny rails, and adjustable furniture, comes standard from the factory.
Daniel Defense GL/SSC - Grenade Launcher Sound Suppressor Capable
For 25 years, Daniel Defense has built a reputation on the kind of hardware that ends up in special operations kits. To mark that milestone, the company is reaching back to one of its rarest chapters, a handguard so obscure it borders on myth. The GL/SSC, short for Grenade Launcher/Sound Suppressor Capable, was a slightly shortened version of the legendary RIS II rail, purpose-built for 12.5-inch barrel setups while retaining full M203 grenade launcher mounting capability.
WOOX Grey Laminate Bravado: Italian Craft Meets Lever Action
WOOX, the Italian-American maker of precision gunstocks, axes, and knives, has announced the Bravado Grey Laminate, a new line of stocks engineered for Henry and Marlin lever-action rifles. The Grey Laminate joins the existing Bravado family and extends WOOX's design philosophy into layered hardwood construction with a distinctly modern visual character.
Q Mini Fix in 6 ARC: Compact Bolt Gun, Serious Reach
Q has a well-earned reputation for building rifles that feel like they emerged from an engineering thought experiment, specifically: what's the minimum amount of rifle you need to accomplish the maximum amount of work? The Mini Fix in 6mm ARC is the latest answer to that question.
TFB Review: Franklin Armory’s Self-Regulating Piston OPS-16 Rifle
I have never really been a huge piston-driven AR-15 fan. The extra weight, complexity, and lack of real benefit for me as a fairly low-volume civilian shooter left me convinced that a well-built direct impingement rifle still offered the best balance for people like me. So when Franklin Armory offered to send out one of their OPS-16 rifles, I figured it’d be another chance to reaffirm my somewhat anti-piston-AR stance. This fairly new rifle is intended to be used with Franklin’s Binary system, but I’ve decided to abscond with the BFS and instead review the standard, 16-inch 5.56 rifle configuration, which uses a low-profile, self-regulating Osprey Defense piston system that aims for cleaner operation and suppressor compatibility without the usual adjustments or swapping out of other components.
Fudd Friday: Watch Out For Husqvarna’s Bargain Rifles On The Used Rack
I was at my “local” gun store a few days back (my local gun store is actually 1.5 hours’ drive away, more if you take the logging roads, which I generally do this time of year) and took a good long look around their racks of used firearms. Lo and behold, amidst the usual lineup of free-floated synthetic stocks and detachable mags, I noted some old-school iron in a corner, with classy, slim wood stock and a blind mag. I looked closer. They had not one, not two, not three, but four Husqvarna 1640 rifles stashed there, all in .30-06 and all priced under $500. It was a great deal that most buyers would miss, not even knowing that Husqvarna was a gun brand to watch out for. So, here’s a very quick look at these Huskies that you might be able to pick up at your LGS, guns that other buyers will miss due to a lack of awareness.
FN Acquires Accuracy International
Accuracy International, renowned UK-based precision rifle manufacturer, is set to become part of the FN Browning Group. Responsible for iconic designs such as the Arctic Warfare, AWM, and AXMC, the company was founded in 1978. The acquisition will see Accuracy International continue to operate under its own brand within FN Browning Group and it comes at an interesting time, as the British military seeks to overhaul its small arms inventory with procurements of new service rifles, machine guns and precision rifles planned into the 2030s.
Marlin Model 1894 Gets Full Mad Pig Customs Treatment at Factory
Mad Pig Customs has been doing the lever-action modernization thing in the custom shop for years. Now that work comes out of the box with a Marlin roll mark on the receiver. Ruger and Marlin announced the Mad Pig Customs Model 1894, a factory collaboration with Mad Pig Customs that brings purpose-built tactical lever upgrades to production guns for the first time. Developed alongside Midwest Industries, the rifle packages a complete suite of custom-grade components into a single, ready-to-run platform rather than sending buyers down the usual path of piecemeal parts sourcing and gunsmith time.
SBR-ing the Rossi R95 .45-70 Triple Black Pistol
When I reviewed the Rossi R95 .45-70 Triple Black Pistol, I called it basically unusable, as is, for the average shooter. I meant it. But the platform was too good to leave alone. I saw the potential. So I filed a Form 1, waited it out, and SBR'd it.
Fudd Friday: Review - The Swedish m/38 Mauser
One of the true gems of the surplus world is the Swedish Mauser. These rifles combine old-world craftsmanship with modern ballistics. I bought this one during the COVID lockdowns of 2020, and in the years since, I have shot it for fun on the range, in competition, and taken it hunting. Here are all the many reasons why you should buy one.
Henry's Award-Winning LASR Expands to .450 Bushmaster
The .450 Bushmaster chambering is a direct answer to the straight-wall cartridge regulations across the Midwest. Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, and parts of Michigan all restrict rifle hunting to straight-walled cartridges, and .450 Bushmaster is one of the most capable options in that category for deer, bear, and hogs at typical hunting distances. Putting it inside the LASR's action means a hunter in those states gets the smooth cycling of the quad-bar linkage, a 10-round DuraMag Stainless Steel detachable magazine that's compatible with MSR-style magazines for easy resupply, and a threaded 18-inch free-floated barrel at 5/8x24 for suppressor use. The whole package weighs in at 6.4 pounds.
Beretta Celebrates 500 Years Premiering the Titan One-Off
As TFB readers may be aware, Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta of Italy holds the title of world’s oldest firearm manufacturer, dating its roots as early as the year 1526. The current year is therefore the 500th anniversary of the birth of the company, a milestone that Beretta is celebrating in style. Besides the rather expected limited edition shotguns, the Italian company is debuting an intriguing Modern Sporting Rifle.
Now Shipping: Howa Fence Line Rifles (In Standard, Mini Actions)
Back at SHOT Show, Howa announced its new Fence Line series of rifles, but as with a lot of stuff from SHOT Show, we’ve had to wait a while for these rifles to actually make their way to buyers in the U.S. market. Now, the Howa Fence Line rifles are shipping across the States, including short-action, long-action, magnum and even mini action choices.
The UK’s Bullpup AR-18 Prototypes
The UK’s path to develop the SA80 is littered with fascinating kitbashed mock-ups and (some might say) abominations. These sort of mock-ups and prototypes are common within firearms development and the UK’s Royal Armouries is custodian of quite a few of them, including a series made during the design of the SA80 bullpup family of weapons. A couple of weeks ago we shared a video published by Murdoch & Co., a US-based company, who have just launched a line of American-made SA80 clones, which looked at a bullpup Stoner 63 assembled by UK’s Royal Small Arms Factory Enfield.
The Weatherby Mark V Carbon Compact
The Weatherby Mark V Carbon Compact is a purpose-built, lightweight rifle designed for smaller-statured shooters or anyone who prefers a shorter length of pull. Updated Magpul ELG Hand Guard: One Part, All Modern Marlin Lever Guns
Magpul has updated its Enhanced Lever Gun (ELG) M-LOK Hand Guard to fit all modern Marlin lever-action rifles, including those produced by Ruger and Remington. The original ELG Hand Guard was compatible only with the Marlin 1895 in .45-70. The updated version extends that compatibility to the 1894 and 336 models across all current chamberings, achieved through a clamp swap to match the appropriate magazine tube diameter. MSRP is $79.95, available in Black, FDE, and ODG.

Weighing about 7 lbs, it offers SIG fans a reliable and capable platform, while still coming in at a price that's about $500 less than the more premium SDI X.
Henry H1 Bandit Is The Next Step Up
For decades, Henry Repeating Arms has sold the same formula for rimfire rifles: A lever-action .22 LR (or .22 Magnum) that comes with iron sights and traditional styling. You might live in the 21st century, but you can feel and look like someone from a Louis L’Amour novel as you blast away at tin cans. The new Henry H1 Bandit breaks that formula. It’s a lever gun, like most Henry rifles, but it’s made for optics, not irons, and it looks like it’s intended to be the next step up for a learning shooter.

Stoner 63 Bullpup Concept Prototype
During the early development of what became known as the SA80 family of weapons the UK’s Royal Small Arms Factory Enfield built a bastardised bullpup Stoner 63. A new video from Murdoch & Co., the US-based company, who have just launched a line of American-made SA80 clones, has shared a video filmed at the UK’s Royal Armouries featuring the bullpup Stoner 63. Jonathan Ferguson, Keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum, explains the prototype to Evan Murdoch. Check out the video below:

Capital Comrades - Two American 7.62x39 Platforms
The AK family of weapons is notorious, but the platform’s infamous partner is the 7.62×39 cartridge. Like Bonnie and Clyde, the AK’s reputation is inseparable from its chambering. That the cartridge is historically simple, robust, and effective is the key variable that makes the platform meaningful. With predictable terminal ballistics and near-mythical reliability, the AK and its round occupy a distinct niche within the 2A community.
