Lipsey’s has several new distributor-exclusive firearms on display this year at SHOT Show. The crowds were thick, and there was a lot of excitement in the air, particularly around the return of the Smith & Wesson Nightguard revolvers. Keep reading to see all the new exclusives.

Lipsey’s @ TFB:

S&W Nightguard

The legendary Smith & Wesson Nightguard is BACK! The Lipsey’s exclusive Model 386 and Model 396 both feature exposed hammers. Hogue Bantam grips come standard and offer a lot of purchase without being too large for carry. These guns sport Scandium frames and steel cylinders, but no internal lock!

Other upgrades to the new Nightguard include a ball detent lockup system and new sights. An adjustable rear sight and a flat-top XS tritium front sight with a green contrast insert come standard, an improvement over the trench sight on the older models. Moving up to a 3-inch barrel allows for a full-length ejector rod, unlike on the 2.5-inch barrels of the older models.

The Model 386 is a .357 Magnum with a 7-shot capacity, weighing 24 ounces, and the Model 396 is a .44 Special with a 5-shot cylinder, weighing 23 ounces. MSRP for both models is $1269. The .44 Special should be available in a few weeks, and the .357 is coming in late February or early March. Hopefully, we see more chamberings in this series in the future!

Springfield Armory 10-8 Master Class

The Springfield Armory 10-8 Master Class is a collaboration project with Hilton Yam. It takes the TRP platform and adds many of Hilton’s signature touches, like his slide serrations and a flat face trigger. The AOS optics mounting system is standard, and the 10-8 Master Class is available in both 9mm and .45 ACP. MSRP for the 10-8 is $2099.

Field Ethos X Smith & Wesson Model 36 “Tropical”

The “Tropical” Model 36 collaboration between Field Ethos and S&W is coming in February. It takes the classic Model 36 J-frame revolver and refines it. The hammer is bobbed to reduce snagging, and this is also a Performance Center model with additional tuning. It features a gold bead front sight and walnut boot grip. And no, it does not have the hated internal lock mechanism. MSRP is $1099 and this is a limited item, so if you want one be sure to move quick when they become available.

Ruger Alaskan Bush Rifle

Lipsey’s announced this rifle a few months ago, and these have started hitting dealer shelves, but this was our first chance to see it in person. The Alaskan Bush Rifle takes the Ruger Hawkeye bolt action rifle and sets it up for close quarters work in bad weather. It has a stainless steel barrel and action, and a laminate stock that will not swell when it is wet. Lipsey’s offers two chamberings, the .35 Whelen (a .30-06 necked up to .358 caliber) and the fancy European equivalent, the 9.3x62mm. These hard-hitting cartridges will not let you down when face-to-face with scary critters, and the included iron sights work in all weather conditions. MSRP is $1579 for both calibers.
