[SHOT 2026] Bronco Arms SPAS12 "Clone"
Turkish gunmaker Bronco Arms had a very interesting shotgun on display at SHOT Show. It bears a striking resemblance to the fabled SPAS 12, but has some differences. Details were sparse, but we'll share what we know.

Bronco Arms is a firearm manufacturer from Turkey, with a product catalog including various shotguns and AK-pattern rifles. But the most eye-catching gun in the booth is the TAC SX. Bronco’s website has previously referred to this model as the SPS 12 F. At first glance, it looks very similar to the Franchi SPAS 12. That gun is very unique in that it is both a gas-operated semiautomatic and a pump action, allowing for use with ammunition that would not otherwise work in semiauto.
Information on the Bronco TAC SX was a little spotty, so take everything here with a grain of salt. We will get more details in the future, but here is what we know for now. Bronco Arms has a US-based importer engaged to get the TAC SX into the US. They do not yet have a US-based distributor to handle sales, but one will be selected in short order. The TAC SX is currently being reviewed by the ATF to determine importability. There is no firm pricing or availability information at this time, but that will be released once a distributor is selected. The gun will ship with a fixed stock rather than the famous folding one seen here, but the folding stock will be sold as an accessory.
Visually, the Bronco TAC SX is similar to the original, but a close look at the receiver reveals some differences. For reference, check out this great post from Rock Island Auction Company to see what a pristine original SPAS 12 looks like. Pay particular attention to the control locations on both sides of the receiver.
The TAC SX does not have the left side button of the original SPAS 12, but instead looks a lot like a Benelli-style receiver. This is not confirmed, but the Bronco representative was very clear that there is no parts compatibility with the original SPAS 12. Bronco also makes an M4 clone already and had one on display in their booth, so a modified M4 or some kind of M3 clone (which is also a pump/semi) would make sense, but treat that as a best guess rather than confirmed information.
What is confirmed is the dual-mode operation. The TAC SX can run as a gas-operated semi-auto or as a pump gun. The signage also clearly lists a 3-inch chamber, while the original was limited to 2 ¾” shells only. The rail on top of the receiver is also a new addition, not seen on the original.
We will keep in touch with Bronco Arms to see what else we can learn, and will post a follow-up article as soon as we get additional information.
We’ll end with some of the best-known media appearances of the SPAS 12, because it feels wrong to not include these.

Don’t forget that it was in The Matrix too!
What’s funny is that I can guarantee this look alike runs significantly more reliably than the actual SPS-12.
