Dark Mountain Arms Barrel Breacher

Dark Mountain Arms, the company behind the Stowaway single-shot 5.7x28 bolt guns, has announced the release of a new product called the Barrel Breacher. This new gadget is a rifle muzzle-attached 12 gauge door breaching device. Designed to be mounted over standard A2 birdcage-style flash hiders using rare earth magnets, this breaching tool is advertised as a solution that instantly gives your primary weapon additional functionality with minimal equipment. Let’s take a closer look.

Breaching Devices @ TFB:

The Barrel Breacher is used with 12 gauge ammunition with frangible projectiles designed for breaching. In order to load the device, one must unscrew the front half of the Barrel Breacher, insert the shotgun shell and screw it back to the rear section. Attachment to the muzzle is done by simply sliding the Barrel Breacher over the flash hider.

The Barrel Breacher has a pressure activated internal trigger; it fires when pressed against a hard surface such as a door lock. There is also a grenade-like safety pin and pull ring that must be removed before using the device. The Barrel Breacher must be removed from the muzzle to allow firing the rifle. I wonder what will happen if one accidentally fires the gun without removing the Barrel Breacher.

The Barrel Breacher is made of stainless steel and aluminum. The aluminum parts have a black anodized finish. The overall length of the device is 7.5 inches and its diameter is 1.2”. The unloaded weight is 8.25 ounces.

The Dark Mountain Arms Barrel Breacher is available exclusively to law enforcement customers, and no price is listed on the company’s website.

not even going to say only 'dumbass' in stress situations. you have a guy as breacher with a shotgun for a fkn reason, you don't stick a dumbass device on your muzzle, thus denying you action when confronted with threat. oops, hang on a second pal, let me take this off and not pop this unit from my gun with gross motion finger freakout with adrenaline, and all while monkeyfutzing this off, allow you to stitch me like a paper target.. while getting in the way, of the OTHER guys in my stack.

thank you for buying a bullet sponge device.

If you can't fire with it on then it would seem worthless and dangerous. Maybe it will just pop off as the bullet goes through the back of the shell?
