Holland & Holland has announced the release of a new Mauser 98 pattern takedown bolt action rifle. The company’s proprietary takedown mechanism allows separating the barreled action from the stock and bottom metal for ease of transportation. Additionally, the rifle has quick-detach scope mounts, also proprietary to Holland & Holland. Let’s see what other features the new Holland & Holland Takedown Magazine Rifle has.

Holland & Holland @ TFB:

The latest generation of rifle from Holland & Holland represents a leap forwards in technology and innovation never before seen in a London ‘Best’ bolt action rifle.
The all-new Takedown Magazine Rifle blends modern processes, sublime hand craftmanship and a traditional aesthetic that reflects on a golden age of adventure and exploration.

The new Holland & Holland Takedown Magazine Rifle indeed cleverly combines traditional and modern materials and technologies. Embedded into the beautiful oil-finished deluxe Circassian walnut stock is a full-length carbon fiber chassis/bedding insert and the trigger unit is newly designed and built with the use of titanium.

The Holland & Holland Takedown Magazine Rifle will be offered in three grades: Best, Deluxe and Exhibition. The first two grades feature embellished metal parts, whereas the Exhibition is completely bespoke, where “the only limit is your imagination”. All three grades come with iron sights of different styles and a pistol grip cap with a compartment for storing a spare foresight. The chambering options will include a wide range of popular cartridges from .22-250 to .500 Jeffery. The actions are scaled to short, standard and magnum length cartridges.

I personally like to see companies like Holland & Holland integrating innovations with gunmaking traditions to create firearms that meet the modern requirements while retaining classic aesthetics. Let us know in the comments section what you think about the new Holland & Holland Takedown Magazine Rifle.
