MDT introduces the TIMBR CORE Rifle Stock and the CORE Bottom Metal. The TIMBR CORE blends the classic look of a sporter-style wood stock with a built-in micro aluminum chassis and adjustable length of pull for enhanced precision. The CORE Bottom Metal is designed to complement the TIMBR CORE, offering AICS magazine compatibility for various rifle platforms.

MDT Sporting Goods @ TFB:

What’s nice is that every TIMBR CORE stock is crafted from solid walnut, so the grain, color, and finish are unique to your rifle.

TIMBR CORE Rifle Stock Features:

  • Available for Ruger American SA and Tikka T3/T3x SA
  • Adjustable Length of Pull: 13.6” to 14.6” (with included 1/4” spacers)
  • 2 Sling studs on the underside of the forend
  • Compatible with barrels as large as the Proof Sendero barrel
  • Integrated aluminum micro chassis (requires bottom metal)
  • Wood option: Solid Walnut
  • Weight: 2.6 lbs

Some detailed photos of the stock. Inside the walnut exterior is an aluminum micro-chassis with V-block bedding, with a precise action fit, and no flex. According to MDT, no bedding is needed (I would still consider it).

The price is $649.90 with the Core Bottom Metal, and $499.95 without.

CORE Bottom Metal Features:

  • AICS compatible
  • Available for Ruger American SA (only compatible with TIMBR Core Stock) and Tikka T3/T3x SA (CTR Profile)
  • Ambidextrous magazine latch
  • Compatible with MDT Adjustable Mag Latch
  • Compatible with aftermarket triggers
  • Weight: 0.23 lbs

The price is $149.95.

Overall, I think this stock delivers a very traditional and solid look, perfect for many hunters (and perhaps regular recreational shooters) who seek this kind of look. On top, there’s something special about wood, and in this case, walnut.
