Palmetto State Armory Releases The Long-Awaited Sabre Mixtape Volume 1
Introduced at SHOT Show this past January, the Sabre Mixtape Volume 1 is expected to be Palmetto State Armory’s biggest release of 2025. As the newest entry in the Sabre lineup, the ‘Volume 1’ also indicates that this .300 Blackout pistol is the first in a series of future Mixtape variants, but more on that later. For now, the Mixtape is here, and with an October 31st release, one has to wonder whether this PDW will be a trick or a treat.
The Best Cheap AR-15
When someone asks me what AR to buy, there are two questions I always ask back: What are you intending to use the gun for, and what is your budget? If the answer to the first question is “working as a military contractor in a war zone,” then the answer to the second question should be high. However, for many people, an AR will perform some combination of duties like coyote blaster, soda can hunter, carbine class tool, and home defense gun. It is possible to get a lot of gun without breaking the bank, but some guns are much better deals than others.
Palmetto State Armory Prevails in Shield Arms Magazine Patent Case
In February 2023, Palmetto State Armory (PSA) unveiled plans to release its Micro Dagger line of Glock 43X and 48 clones, starting with slides, followed by magazines, and then complete handguns later in the year. The announcement created predictable excitement within the community, as specs included an optics cut and a new Glock-compatible 15-round magazine, not to mention PSA’s tradition of offering products at prices that present considerable value. PSA followed through with its promise to roll out the line; however, later that year, Shield Arms demanded that they stop selling Micro Dagger magazines, claiming the design infringed on its patent for the S15, an aftermarket magazine for the Glock 43X and 48 that also holds 15 rounds and was originally released in 2019. Well, the dispute has finally been decided by a South Carolina District Court, with judgment in favor of PSA.

[SHOT 2025] PSA New Releases & Concept Guns
Palmetto State Armory was one of the most talked-about manufacturers at SHOT last year with their whole spate of new projects. 2025 continues that trend with a bevy of new and interesting items. This year included a whole spate of concept guns and some other items that are either in production now or coming soon. The concept guns are not guaranteed to ever reach the market, and PSA will prioritize the items that captured the most votes in their poll.
PSA Drops The Hottest Mixtape Ever
@Hoplopfheil is back at the Palmetto State Armory booth talking with Justin about their new Sabre Mixtape chambered in .338 ARC. Perfect in an SBR or AR pistol, the .338 ARC Mixtape fires a subsonic-focused cartridge that's also capable of supersonic performance. Combined with the more premium parts and features of the PSA Sabre line, the Mixtape is set to outperform the original album... at least according to PSA.
PSA's NEW 9mm X9 PDW
@Hoplopfheil is still stuck in the PSA booth at SHOT Show 2025. This time he and Justin are checking out last year's very popular PSA X-57 PDW as well as the brand new concept gun - the PSA X9 9mm PDW. The new 9mm gun will make use of straight double-stack B&T 9mm magazines compatible with guns like the GHM9 and TP9 PDWs. The X9 will be available to be voted on just like every other concept gun that PSA has showed us this year. Go ahead and let them know if you like the new X9!

Palmetto State Armory has been making their long-stroke JAKL rifle for a few years, and one of their concept guns for 2025 is a 2.0 update for the JAKL. The JAKL 2.0 would be a lighter, more elegant version of the rifle but would sacrifice some of the aftermarket compatibility of the original. @Hoplopfheil dropped by the PSA booth to check it out and get the details.

TFB Review: PSA Soviet Arms "Krink" in 5.56
One of the most anticipated new releases from Palmetto State Armory was the “Krink” AK when it was announced at SHOT Show 2023. The AKS-74U is a grail gun for many shooters, but it is a hard one to find, and expensive if one can be located. A PSA Krink would make that gun both affordable and available. I asked PSA to send me one to review, and it is time to talk about how it performed.
