PSA is reviving the AAC brand’s MPW line of firearms, with a twist. There will be both homages to the original rifles and some new takes on the idea. Keep reading for all the details.

SHOT 2026 @ TFB:

MPW

AAC’s MPW is a throwback to the rifles offered by the company back in the early 2010s. For a look at an original, see Matt E.’s article about his MPW here. The new generation of MPW incorporates a full chrome BCG and will come in both 5.56 and .300 Blackout. The handguard is styled on the original, with Picatinny rail segments machined in as well as flats on the sides where other rails can also be added. The MPW shows up on the  AAC website now with a listed MSRP of $999.

MPW-A

The MPW-A takes the same basic idea and modernizes it, substituting an MLOK handguard among other changes. The upper receiver is also redesigned, with the forward assist moved forward for easy access and with added gas vents. Those vents reduce gas to the shooter’s face by redirecting it out the side of the gun. There is also a seal around the charging handle to further reduce face gas venting. The new receiver set also has an ambidextrous bolt catch on the right side of the gun.

MPA-IC

This is the AAC take on the ICAR platform. It uses the Magpul ICAR magazines optimized for 6mm ARC and has a receiver set that accepts those magazines. Like the other PSA 6mm ARC projects, it uses the new E4 bolt setup. This is also not interchangeable with other ARs, but offers a stronger bolt design to handle the rigors of 6mm ARC use. The MPA-IC is expected to be released in Q3 or Q4.

MPW-SD

Another new thing joining the MPW line is the SD. It has a larger handguard that holds the suppressor. It also incorporates a polymer sleeve on the handguard to reduce head transfer. Versions were on display in both .300 BLK and .338 ARC. It uses an HK416-style upper receiver forging to create extra space in the barrel and handguard area for the silencer.
