PSA Teases M14, Offers New Budget Mk18
Palmetto State Armory is always up to something, and that trend continues. A new Mk-18-ish pistol, the PSA-18, is an affordable gateway drug to the world of clones. And H&R is getting into the M14 game once more!

Clone nerds are already crying out that the PSA-18 is not a true clone, and that is true. But the vibe is close enough for most people who are just looking for something fun to shoot. It has a 10.5-inch nitrided barrel, HAR-15 arm brace, and quad rail handguard with rail covers. It is also only $529. PSA also offers the Sabre-18, with upgrades like an FN cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel, UIC code, and detachable rear sight unit. It retails for $899.
PSA also teased the release of an H&R M14 clone, but that announcement raises more questions than answers. The video caption reads, “H&R M14 — The return of a legend. You’ve been wishing for it, asking for it, and we’re proud to announce that it’s happening. These will be a limited run and a limited edition. More info coming soon!” What do limited run and limited edition mean? Is this a one-and-done that someone else is making, but that features H&R branding, or is this initial batch a special edition, and this is the beginning of regular M14 production from H&R? Might we see variants like the M21 or M25 in the future? Who knows. We will be watching this one closely.
Stats on the PSA-18 from the PSA:
“Barrel: 10.5" 4150V Chrome Moly vanadium steel, nitride coated and chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 1 in 7" twist. The carbine length gas barrel is finished off with a quad rail handguard with rail covers, a .750 Front Sight Base, and a PSA flash hider.
Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is machined to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized. Uppers include forward assist and dust cover. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer.

#M14 Blackfeather RS update:
I spoke with our Canadian manufacturer at length last night, they have finalized enough changes to go ahead and build two or three prototype Gen II chassis stocks and I will receive one of them for testing purposes. I can't discuss the details or answer many questions at this time, but I can tell you that the Gen II will be lighter and more compatible with modern accessories than the Gen I RS. Progress will accelerate from this point on... I renewed my Import permit this morning in anticipation of bringing the finest M14/M1A chassis stock system ever devised to you the American citizen sooner than later.
Look forward to reviews on the H&R M14 clone. Seems like a parts bin build, and at $2.2K plus, not something that interests me vs a Springfield M1A.
