6 New Colt Revolvers featuring Upgraded, Enhanced Hogue Overmolded Rubber Grips
As previously mentioned, there are six new Colt revolvers featuring upgraded, enhanced Hogue® overmolded rubber grips being added to Colt’s portfolio of wheelguns. This enhancement brings improved ergonomics and performance to both the Cobra and King Cobra lines.
Benefits of the New Grip Design
- Enhanced Ergonomics: Deeper finger grooves with pinky rest to accommodate a wider range of hand sizes.
- Compact Profile: Reduced width, height, and overall weight (approx. 1oz lighter) for improved concealment.
- Reliable Control: High-traction rubber surface ensures a secure, comfortable grip and reduced felt recoil.
First up, we have the Cobra .38 SPL+P (SKU: COBRA-SM2RFO), which has an MSRP of $899. This revolver has a plain matte finish, a 6-round cylinder, and allows for double-action/single-action (DA/SA) hammer fire. Plain in appearance, yes, but oftentimes there is beauty in simplicity.
Next is the Night Cobra .38 SPL+P (SKU: COBRA-MB2RNS), which has an MSRP of $999. With a matte black DLC (diamond-like coating) finish and a bobbed or chopped exposed hammer, this invokes some strong “Dark Knight” vibes for concealed carry.
Then, we step up to the King Cobra .357 Magnum (SKU: KCOBRA-SB2RBB), which has an MSRP of $1,149. This high-polished stainless carry piece has a bobbed/chopped hammer and is double-action only (DAO). So, this is definitely meant for concealed carry with its smooth exterior low-snag hammer style.
With some small tweaks, we come to the King Cobra .357 Magnum (SKU: KCOBRA-SB3RBB), which has an MSRP of $1,149. This revolver dons a slightly longer barrel at 3” and it is back to that traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA) action style. Once again we’re looking at a high-polish stainless finish for a bit of kicked up curb appeal.
Next in line is the King Cobra .357 Magnum (SKU: KCOBRA-SB2RBB-S), which has an MSRP of $1,149. This revolver is a return to a more classical 2” barrel length for everyday concealed carry. Classically-styled and timelessly-reliable as a pocket, six-shooter.
Finally, we have the King Cobra Target .357 Magnum (SKU: KCOBRA-SB4RTS), which has an MSRP of $1,149. This revolver gets the upgrade to the moniker of King Cobra “Target” because of its target-style sights. You have a fiber optic front sight paired with a fully-adjustable rear. This allows for more tweaking and refinement of your aim at the gun range. So, whether it is a sidearm while hunting or a primary firearm in self-defense, you know that you are going to hit your mark.
Night Cobra Wood Medallion Grip Special
The Night Cobra Special 2" Matte Black DLC .38 Special+P (SKU: COBRA-MB2WBB) has an MSRP of $999 and is debatably the most attractive of the new announcements we are going to cover today. With a muted Black DLC finish, retro wood panel grips with a gold medallion, and a classy brass bead front sight, this lil’ revolver can pull double-time as your EDC pistol or a show piece amongst friends. It’s your pick.
Key Product Details:
- Forged stainless steel with black DLC finish for corrosion resistance and durability
- DA/SA revolver chambered for 38 Special +P
- Includes brass bead front sight and integral notch rear sight
- Features retro wood panel grips with a gold medallion
King Cobra 8” Target .22 Long Rifle
The last new wheelgun we’re going to cover today from Colt is the King Cobra 8” Target .22 Long Rifle (SKU: KCOBRA22-SP8RFO), which has an MSRP of $1,149. The extended 8" barrel enhances sight radius and stability, making it an exceptional choice for precision target shooting, small-game hunting, and training. Chambered in .22 LR, it offers minimal recoil and affordable shooting - ideal for high-volume practice without sacrificing performance. This 10-round capacity revolver maintains the same standard, premium features that all of the King Cobra Target revolvers have, which are listed below.
Key Product Details:
- Colt Forged stainless steel construction
- 10-round capacity
- Double/single action operation
- Hogue rubber overmold grip
- Fully adjustable rear sight and fiber-optic front sight
- One-piece barrel construction with a recessed target crown

Great, now when the heck are they going to actually release the RMSc adaptors for the King Cobra and Python/Anaconda which are still listed on their website as "COMING SEPTEMBER 2025"?
I know that 8" 22LR is probably expensive. It doesn't mean that I still don't want one. A set of proper wood grips would be my preference. I just enjoy anything 22LR.
