Primary Arms 1-8x24mm SFP w/ ACSS NOVA 5.56/.308 Fiber Wire Reticle

The Primary Arms PLxC 1-8X24 FFP scope was recently named by TFB the best optic for the AR-15, so it’s time for a heads up, as they just launched a new variant of their PLxC 1-8x24mm Second Focal Plane Compact Rifle Scope. It now features the ACSS NOVA 5.56/.308 Fiber Wire Reticle. Offered in black or flat dark earth, this LPVO is designed for users running modern sporting rifles or tactical carbines who want a lightweight optic with extended capabilities.
The ACSS NOVA 5.56/.308 reticle builds on the original NOVA design, incorporating bullet drop compensation calibrated for common 5.56 NATO and .308 Winchester loads. It includes ballistic holdovers and auto-ranging marks to help with quick distance estimation and faster follow-up shots. The illuminated fiber wire reticle is designed for visibility in varying light conditions and includes a motion-sensing AutoLive system to conserve battery life.
Optically, the scope uses Japanese ED glass to deliver strong light transmission and image clarity. With a 9.2-inch overall length and a weight of 16.8 ounces, it's notably compact for an LPVO in this magnification range. Turrets feature a steel-on-steel adjustment mechanism aimed at improving durability and repeatability in harsh use.
“By combining a high-efficiency fiber wire system with BDC holds and auto-ranging features, this new reticle offers a tremendous advantage in both speed and precision,” said Scott Tirman, Vice President of Optics at Primary Arms. “For those seeking true cutting-edge performance from an LPVO, this scope will be a compelling option that can compete with the very best.”

I’ve been a fan of PA’s optics and red dots for a long time. From early red dots and scopes to what they offer now. I’ve had the SLX, GLX ,PLX and PLXC. I love the PlXC but my one complaint is I can get it really clear on one power but not both. I can adjust it the be super clear on 1x but if I go to 8x it’s slightly off. C does addresses this in his video on it. I kinda wish they made a 1-6 PLXc so it’s not having a sacrifice trying to stretch it from 1-8.
i own the M8 Yard / Raptor PLX1-8x24. When price compares to a NF it is appealing, but in my experience with the optic you are just as capable with 5.56 (20-500 yds) with a 1-6 variant at a near fraction of the cost. I actually regret purchasing it. The only PA optic that I have that mindset on, and I own many along with red dots. Huge PA fan, this optic with the fire dot to me is PA attempting to make up for the let down of the 1st variant. Buying this optic made me realize how good a full of quality the lower models are, and how well priced they are compared to this overpriced competitor to NF and vortex. A reticle with that much going on it it (M8 Raptor) is not effective in my opinion and gets it the way. It’s not needed with a cartridge that most are shooting at distances of less than 300-400 on average. You don’t need all those stadia and elevation indicators on it. Pure simple and effective like the fire dot variant is ALL a person needs.
