POTD: The Frozen Beast - JP Rifles PSC-12

The PSC-12. JP Enterprises doesn't make this model any longer. It was a version of the (still existing) LRP-07, but with the addition of a side-charger. There may have been changes, but the combination of a side-charger - while still keeping the original charging handle in its original place - made me go for this model. The Magpul Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish was applied at the factory. I’ve made some modifications, like a Magpul K2+ grip in FDE and a Magpul ARCA rail, to enhance the performance for DMR shooting. I also added a Triggertech two-stage trigger, which works great unless you set the trigger pull below its tolerance.

Unfortunately, it didn’t shoot that well in .308 Win, so I managed to get an almost new 22” JP barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. Meanwhile, I also got a badass glass for it, and probably one of the best long-range optics you can get on an AR platform: the Schmidt & Bender 5-20x50 PM II Ultra Short. Above, it can be seen with the 3-27x56 PM II, which is much larger. Using a camera for spotting at 100 meters - but not sure if the groups correspond to this rifle, most likely not.

The reticle in the Schmidt & Bender is MSR2. Great for milling, to calculate distances if you know the size of the target and don’t have a laser.

If you ever get the chance, try out the Schmidt & Bender 5-20x50 PM II Ultra Short on your AR platform. There’s a 3-20x too, but it’s longer. They’re not cheap, but hand-made in Germany according to your liking. The mount is a QD from Spuhr.

So after I buy a new rifle, I have to replace the barrel because it doesn't shoot well? What does that say about JP Rifles??? And it's never stated whether the new barrel improved the performance or not.
