SNT Defense, the American arm of the Korean arms manufacturer formerly known as Daewoo, has posted a new update on the status of their projects. The K2 rifle is still coming, but timelines have been pushed back somewhat. Keep reading for all the details.

Korean Guns @ TFB:

Our coverage of SNT Defense at SHOT Show 2025 was one of the biggest stories of the show. James Reeves' interviews with SNT's team about the K2 and K13 rifles are worth a watch if you have not seen them:

Many of the gun nerds among us rejoiced at the prospect of renewed access to the K-series of rifles. Well, SNT Defense posted a statement on Instagram about the current status of the company and what timelines are like for these new products to hit the market:

To summarize, orders for DP51 pistols will open in the last quarter of 2025, with an anticipated MSRP of $499. K2S parts kits from Korea are also coming by the end of 2025. US-made K2S rifles are now planned for Q3 2026 with an MSRP of $1799. That is further out and more expensive than was predicted at SHOT, but at least we know they are still coming.

While we wait for the reborn K2 to hit the shelves, our friends at the 9 Hole Reviews recently put an original and a modified version of the K2 through their Practical Accuracy course of fire. It's worth a watch to see what these guns can do, and for the technical and historical overview:

I'm honestly surprised they aren't more because of the tariffs. Glad to see they're still headed to the US!

  • More choices on the market are generally a good thing. More choices of Piston Carbines are even better!
