POTD: Blaser R8 300,000 “The Wild Planet”
For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of Blaser Custom Shop’s latest creation, the R8 300,000 "The Wild Planet” rifle. The metal surfaces of this rifle are almost completely covered in miniature Blaser Argali head logos; however, the rifle has multiple hinged parts that include the receiver sides, grip cap, and cheek rest, which, when opened, reveal elaborate wildlife engravings executed by master engraver Daniel Karagiannis.
Opening the buttplate reveals an image of a tiger in the jungle.
Hidden under the grip cap is a growling polar bear.
Under the cheek piece is an elephant head, carved into mammoth ivory with scrimshaw technique.
And the hinged receiver side plates conceal metal canvases with more animal engravings.
The Alcantara leather-lined case of the Blaser R8 300,000 "The Wild Planet” not only houses the rifle, two Blaser scopes and accessories, but also a miniature replica of the rifle!
