New Vortex AMG 1-10×24 FFP High-End LPVO
Vortex has announced the launch of the AMG 1-10x24 FFP riflescope, expanding its top-tier AMG lineup with a low-power variable optic designed for modern duty and tactical carbines. Built to meet demanding operational standards, the AMG 1-10x24 combines a wide magnification range with a compact footprint intended for short-barreled rifles and systems that require extensive rail-mounted accessories. The MSRP of $6,399.99 is not as compact.
According to Vortex, the AMG 1-10x24 was developed around performance requirements established by elite military units, including expectations for zero retention, optical clarity, and long-term durability under hard use.
The resulting optic is intended to support rapid engagement at close range while still offering precise shot placement at extended distances, making it suitable for both professional and civilian shooters using LPVO-equipped carbines.
The scope features a first focal plane, glass-etched EBR-9 MRAD reticle, which maintains consistent subtensions throughout the entire magnification range. Designed with tactical applications in mind, the reticle offers a clean center aiming area for fast work at low magnification, while the ranging and holdover grid supports accurate corrections at distance.
Vortex states the reticle is optimized for engagements extending beyond 1,000 yards, depending on cartridge and shooter capability.
“The project started when the UK Ministry of Defense asked for an optic that didn’t exist and nobody else would make,” says Andy Haffemann, Vortex® Advanced Design Manager. “Over years of iterations, failed prototypes — hundreds of lenses turned to dust through recoil testing — we refined every detail through connections at UK Ministry of Defense and U.S. Special Operations Command until it met their combined expectations.”
Despite its 1-10x magnification range, the AMG 1-10x24 is engineered to remain compact, preserving rail space for accessories such as thermal clip-ons, laser aiming devices, offset red dots, and backup iron sights. Each riflescope is hand-assembled and individually inspected at Vortex’s facility in Barneveld, Wisconsin.
The AMG 1-10x24 ships with Vortex’s Defender Flip Cap O-24L, designed specifically for 34mm LPVOs.
As with other optics in the AMG series, the 1-10x24 reflects Vortex’s focus on mechanical precision, optical performance, and durability for demanding end users. Below is a list of its features according to Vortex’s press release:
- CLASS LEADING HD OPTICAL SYSTEM Stunning resolution and exceptionally wide field of view.
- TOOLLESS TURRETS Fast, tool-free zero with reliable return and micro adjustment.
- DUAL ZERO TURRETS Switch zeros for suppressed, unsuppressed, super or subsonic, light or heavyweight loads.
- LIGHTWEIGHT, COMPACT BUILD Just 8.4" and 18.8 ounces, fits short-barreled carbines and frees up the rail for attachments.
- LOCKING FAST-FOCUS DIOPTER (PATENTED) Locks tight to keep your reticle sharp.
- LOCKING ILLUMINATION DIAL Aggressively knurled for control. Lock prevents shifts from snags and transport.
- INTEGRATED THROW LEVER (PATENTED) 120° throw for faster transitions, low profile to avoid snags.
- MADE IN U.S.A. WITH U.S. AND GLOBAL PARTS Engineered, machined, and assembled in the USA. Held to micron level tolerances.

Online, vortex is claiming that the new scope can be purchased for about $4,000 from various vendors.
Vortex requires adequate government funding for this project. Their government sales price is $6000, making it unsuitable for individual purchase and outside our target market. They likely don't anticipate significant public sales.
