This is a review of the Delta Optical Stryker HD 1-10x28 SDOG-1 (MRAD) riflescope. This is a compact Low Power Variable Optic (LPVO) with a reticle in the First Focal Plane (FFP), parallax adjustment and exposed lockable turrets. The brand Delta Optical is from Poland, but this sight is Made In Japan. When asking around, the brand is typically described as offering optics with a blend of wide magnification, illuminated reticles, good twilight performance, sharp optics, and affordability. There is always a strong demand for high-quality optics at reasonable prices, and there are many reasons to include Delta when you’re on the market for new glass.

Once upon a time, the “low power variable optic” (LPVO) was a 1-4x scope. Then along came the 1-6x, then the 1-8x, and now the 1-10x. A top-end with 10x magnification is hardly “low power,” particularly when that was the standard magnification for USMC sniper rifles for many years. A while back, Leapers reached out to the crew at The Firearm Blog and asked if anybody would be interested in reviewing one of their new 1-8 LPVOs. I was particularly intrigued by this, as I was not aware that Leapers/Integrix was creating military spec optics, and I thought that they only made scopes for airsoft guns or pellet rifles. C&H Precision continues to expand its lineup of optics and is getting into the magnified scope game. Their new 2-12×24 LPVO is a unique optic that some might call an MPVO. And before you ask, yes it does have adjustable parallax!

Hoplopfheil drops by the Trijicon booth to check out the new Credo 1-10x LPVO. The Credo series is Trijicon’s flagship series of variable optics, including both LPVOs and mid-range scopes. The new 1-10x LPVO incorporates some features of the existing Credo 1-8x and 2-10x scopes and pushes the top-end magnification a bit further.

While EOTECH‘s most well-known products may be their holographic sights, that’s certainly not all they do. They’re also players in the night vision/thermal market, and they launched their first red dot with the EFLX pistol optic in 2022. They also offer several models of riflescopes, with the Vudu line having first released back in 2016. Their current Vudu offerings include four first focal plane variants and three featuring second focal plane reticles. These range from 1-6x, 1-8x, and 1-10x LPVOs up to an 8-32x option, among others. Now EOTECH has announced that they’re bringing a new series of riflescopes to their product catalog, meant to be a bit more budget-friendly than the existing choices. Trijicon has three new scopes for 2024, with two new Credo 1-10×28 models and a new Tenmile HX 5-25×50 FFP. All three are premium models with high-end features. They also have illumination in both red and green.

I was surprised to see that they are bringing to market a whole line of premium optics for real firearms. One of the standup features that really caught my eye with their INTEGRIX IX8 1-8 LPVO optic was that from one to eight power, they claimed that your eye relief will not change. I’ll be doing a full review later on on this optic but for now, this is just a first impression piece. You can find the manufacturer specs below and then at the bottom of this article, I will give my first impressions on this new optic from Leapers.

This past August I was lucky enough to be invited out to Beaverton OR to take a tour of the Leupold factory with a number of other outdoor journalists. After the tour, we were all taken to the Leupold Optics Academy to test out some of the scopes we just witnessed being constructed. We got to play around with many different scopes from different manufacturers in early lighting situations. The two scopes we primarily used for the three days at the Academy were the MARK 5HD 7-35X56 and the subject of this review, the MARK 5HD 2-10X30 M1C3 FFP PR1-MOA.

We are back to continue this deep dive into the Steyr Scout rifle. Part 1 of this review looked at the features of the rifle and some accuracy testing. It also looked at some general features of the rifle and how it differs from a run-of-the-mill bolt gun. For Part 2, we will primarily look at optic selection. 

Delta Optical officially launched the Stryker HD 1-10×28 on October 17th. This optic was announced earlier this year but is now available. Let’s check out the features it brings to the market.

The Department of Energy (DOE) has procured the Primary Arms PLx 1-8×24 scope for its security forces. PA makes a few reticle options, and DOE opted for the ACSS Griffin Mil M8 version. It is an illuminated mil-grid FFP design. 

Sightron has a new low-power variable optic in their S-Tac lineup. The new 1-6×24 IR AR1 is a second focal plane scope with a 30mm main tube. It also features an illuminated reticle.
