Viridian Releases RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight for Ruger LCP MAX

Viridian Weapon Technologies has introduced the RFX1 Green Dot Reflex Sight, the first optic built specifically for the Ruger LCP MAX. Rather than relying on adapter plates or slide modifications, the RFX1 uses the LCP MAX’s rear sight dovetail for a direct fit that keeps the sight low and close to the slide profile. That mounting approach preserves the pistol’s compact lines and avoids the bulk that many carry shooters try to avoid when adding an optic.
At just 0.53 ounces and machined from aluminum, the RFX1 is exceptionally small and light for a green-dot reflex sight. The optic projects a 3 MOA green dot and the lens assembly is fully multi-coated, offering what Viridian describes as unlimited eye relief and a fast sight picture. An auto-brightness sensor adjusts dot intensity to match ambient lighting, and Viridian’s INSTANT-ON® activation system is intended to keep the dot available when the pistol is drawn, eliminating a separate manual-on step.
Durability for daily carry is addressed with IPX4 water resistance and a shockproof build, and Viridian rates battery life from a single CR1632 at up to 30,000 hours. Those figures mean the RFX1 is aimed at owners who want an almost maintenance-free optic on a pistol that’s chosen specifically for concealability. The combination of a small footprint, long battery life and an auto-adjusting dot is clearly intended for the practical needs of everyday carry.
“We set out to create the most compact, powerful, and user-friendly sight possible—and that’s exactly what the RFX1 delivers,” said Brian Hedeen, President and CEO of Viridian Weapon Technologies. “It’s tailor-made for the LCP MAX. This pairing defines what a modern concealed carry setup should be: sleek, responsive, and ready for anything.”
For Ruger LCP MAX owners who want the aiming speed and simplicity of a reflex sight without changing the pistol’s slide, the RFX1 presents a straightforward option and fills a niche. This is a purpose-built micro optic for a pistol that was not originally designed around optics, offering a low-profile installation and a lightweight package that keeps the LCP MAX close to its original carry form.

What do you think? Should guns like the Ruger LCP MAX be left alone, or is it perfectly fine to green dot it?
