Staccato has announced that competitive shooting champion Max Michel has joined the company as its new Vice President of Training, Marketing, and Brand Ambassadorship. The move brings one of the most accomplished pistol shooters in the world into a leadership role where he will contribute to training programs, product development, and organizational outreach.

Staccato & Max Michel @ TFB:

Michel has been active at the highest levels of competition for close to 30 years. His record includes thirteen USPSA National Championships, seven Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting titles, an IPSC World Championship, multiple IPSC World Shoot team gold medals, and more than 300 major match wins. He also holds a Guinness World Record. Michel is widely known for his consistency and precision, attributes that have defined his career in disciplines where fractions of a second often separate top competitors.

In his new role, Michel will lead and expand Staccato’s training efforts. He will work with the company’s established cadre of instructors, which includes Randy Tweedy, KC Eusebio, Michelle Viscusi, and several other experienced competitors and trainers. The team conducts courses and demonstrations for civilian shooters as well as federal, military, and law enforcement organizations.

“This truly feels like a full-circle moment, and I couldn’t be more grateful to join Staccato,” said Michel. “My journey began when STI became my very first sponsor at just 15 years old as a new Grand Master shooter. Now, nearly three decades later, I’ve found my way back to Staccato, and I’m ready to make an impact on its efforts to deliver unmatched performance and support to its customers and our nation’s heroes.”

Michel will also support Staccato’s outreach and demonstration programs at both Staccato Ranch in Texas and Staccato Vegas in Nevada. These facilities regularly host training events, agency evaluations, and user-level familiarization sessions.

According to Staccato, Michel will additionally collaborate with the company’s product development staff. His background in competition, where reliability, ergonomics, and shot-to-shot consistency are critical, is expected to contribute to future research and design efforts.

“Max represents everything Staccato stands for, excellence, integrity, and a deep commitment to service,” said Willem Driessen, CMO of Staccato. “His career is defined not only by world-class performance, but also by leadership and mentorship. Having Max join our team strengthens our ability to effectively equip and train shooters at every level. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to Staccato.”
