Photo Of The Day, and we go full Rose Gold, with a hint of black Kirinite! Custom & Collectable Firearms has unveiled a new limited-run pistol: the Kimber 1911 El Rey. Chambered in .45 ACP, production is capped at just 380 sequentially numbered pistols (why not 45 or 450?).

The El Rey (Spanish for “The King”) blends the proven 1911 platform with a finish described as bold and luxurious. The pistol features a rose gold slide and frame, engraved with the El Rey name, accented by high-polished blue PVD controls. Black Kirinite grip panels complete the look, offering contrast and elegance. The result is a striking mix of color and texture that sets this edition apart from standard production models.

Attention to detail extends beyond the pistol itself. Each El Rey ships in a black presentation case stamped with the Custom & Collectable Firearms logo in gold foil. A challenge coin for your tradition & camaraderie and a certificate of authenticity, hand-signed by the company’s owner, are included.

With its distinctive design and limited availability, the Kimber El Rey is positioned as both a functional .45 ACP 1911 and a display-worthy firearm for enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship and rarity.

It’s been a while since I last fired a .45, or even saw one on the range, and I presume most of these will remain in the box. I almost forgot to mention the price of $3,299.99.
