HTI traces its roots back to 1906, when Luigi Passoni began working at the Falk steel factory in Milan, Italy. During his time there, Passoni was involved in developing specialty steels intended for barrel manufacturing, laying an early foundation for what would eventually become a family legacy in precision firearms engineering. When Falk ceased production in 1995, the next generation carried that legacy forward as Carlo Guido Passoni founded HTI, transforming decades of metallurgical knowledge into a modern rifle manufacturer.

Today, HTI operates just below the historic Ca’ Busca fortress in Milan, a location that reflects the company’s strong connection to Italian industrial tradition. Over the years, HTI has earned a reputation among precision shooters for producing technically innovative rifles that emphasize durability, mechanical rigidity, and repeatable accuracy. The company is known for its extensive use of patented monolithic designs, covering both core rifle structures and accessory interfaces, a design philosophy that has become central to the HTI identity.

Now led by Matteo Passoni, HTI continues to focus on engineering-driven solutions rather than conventional action-based designs, positioning the brand as a specialist manufacturer within the precision rifle market.

HTI’s latest development is the XXLPR, the magnum-sized member of the company’s next-generation rifle family, which also includes the XPR and XLPR platforms. The XXLPR is designed as a multi-caliber precision rifle system, supporting cartridges up to 12.7×108mm, and is intended for extreme long-range and heavy-caliber applications.

Unlike traditional bolt-action rifles, HTI’s system eliminates a separate action entirely. The bolt locks directly into a one-piece monolithic barrel block, creating a continuous and rigid structure from chamber to muzzle. According to HTI, this design contributes to consistent accuracy levels rated at up to 1/8 MOA, depending on caliber and configuration.

According to the company, the barrel interior is treated with a nitral-ox coating, engineered to withstand prolonged use and high round counts, and rated for more than 22,000 rounds. The XXLPR platform is part of a fully modular rifle system emphasizing ergonomics, caliber flexibility, and long-term service life.

Pricing varies by caliber, with entry configurations such as .308 Winchester positioned at a notably accessible level, €1770, while large-caliber options scale accordingly; €6750 for the .50 BMG.

This is probably the longest compensator I’ve ever seen.

If you’re interested and going to the SHOT Show, you can find HTI’s rifles in booth #71114. They’re actively looking for U.S. importers. If you prefer a visit online, check: https://hti.center/
