Steiner Optics has announced that its ATLAS (Advanced Tactical Laser Aiming System) is now available to military and law enforcement customers, professional security users, and the wider commercial market. The unit is designed as a compact, multi-emitter aiming and illumination device intended to support a broad range of operational distances. I haven’t seen one in real life, but it looks really low-profile, with dimensions being 114 x 62 x 34mm (4.5 x 2.5 x 1.4 in.).

The ATLAS uses a five-emitter architecture: a visible laser, a near-infrared (NIR) aiming laser, a long-range VCSEL illuminator, and two NIR LED illuminators for close and mid-range work. All emitters are co-aligned and adjusted using a single set of zeroing controls, which is said to simplify setup and maintain alignment across modes.

Steiner has focused heavily on ergonomics for the ATLAS. The unit includes a low-profile integrated mount designed to sit neatly alongside standard optics without adding unnecessary height or bulk. A five-position mode selector and three raised, tactile activation buttons provide the main interface, and the layout is built for ambidextrous operation. Controls are spaced to remain accessible while wearing gloves or operating the carbine from either shoulder.

The housing is constructed from magnesium alloy to reduce overall weight while retaining impact and environmental durability. The weight is specified at less than 200 g (7 oz.).

Multiple output levels, including high, medium, and low, allow the user to choose the illumination strength suited to the task, whether for close-quarters work, navigation, or longer-range aiming under NODs.

Steiner released a brand new video, presenting the ATLAS:

With its combination of visible and infrared aiming options, adjustable power settings, and a compact footprint, the ATLAS is positioned as a multi-role aiming device for agencies and qualified civilian users seeking a consolidated laser and illuminator system.

In the video, I noticed the “blue screw”, which can be removed “on order by your commander”, for more laser power.

The price? The MSRP starts at $4,024.99. More information can be found through Steiner Optics: https://www.steiner-optics.com/products/atlas or authorized dealers.
