Flux Defense has announced its newest chassis system, this time built around the SIG Sauer P365 family. Called the P365 Ultra-Light, the unit is designed to create what the company refers to as a “Vehicle Defensive Weapon” (VDW). According to Flux Defense, the VDW concept focuses on compactness, rapid deployment inside confined spaces, and improved control compared to a standard handgun.

The chassis itself is built as a standalone component that accepts existing P365-series frames, slides, barrels, and magazines. No firearm parts are included. With a listed weight of 8.7 ounces, the Ultra-Light aims to provide greater stability and shootability while remaining notably smaller and lighter than traditional pistol-caliber platforms. Flux Defense states the system is approximately three inches shorter and 85 percent lighter than an MP5K, placing it closer to the footprint of a duty-sized handgun while offering increased control.

The chassis is intended to give users higher on-board capacity when paired with extended P365 magazines, along with improved recoil management thanks to the additional contact points and revised geometry. The company also notes that users should see increases in practical accuracy and effective range due to the more stable interface. The design remains compatible with standard P365 slides and barrels, allowing owners to configure the system with their preferred optics-ready or iron-sight upper assemblies.

One notable inclusion is Flux Defense’s new 2.0 adjustable holster, which ships with the chassis. The holster is designed for either IWB or OWB use and is intended to give owners an immediate transport solution without requiring additional accessories.

The P365 Ultra-Light’s overall dimensions are centered around vehicle carry, with the system sized to fit common storage points such as gloveboxes, center consoles, or under-seat compartments. Flux Defense positions this setup as an option for users wanting a compact PDW-style tool without moving to a larger firearm category.

Key Performance Features and Specifications Include:

  • Patented Speedload System: Facilitates faster reloads than traditional pistols or other PDWs, ensuring operators maintain an advantage.
  • Enhanced Capacity: Supports up to 50 rounds on the gun with optional magazine extensions, providing extended engagement capability.
  • Superior Control: A built-in shroud ensures a secure C-clamp grip and promotes flatter shooting, significantly improving accuracy and follow-up shots.
  • Lightweight, Durable Construction: Crafted from military-grade glass-filled nylon and S7 steel, featuring a Type 3 hard anodized shroud for exceptional resilience without added bulk.
  • Optimal Velocity Option: Features an optional 6-inch barrel to increase velocity, surpassing the performance of an MP5K.
  • Included 2.0 Adjustable Holster: Ships with the new 2.0 holster, designed for ultimate flexibility. It can be hard-mounted in the vehicle for quick access or carried with you, supporting both inside (IWB) and outside the waistband (OWB) configurations.
  • Compact & Extendable Design: Collapsed: 9.75" L x 4" W x 1.375" H. Extended: 18.5" L x 4" W x 1.25" H
  • Ergonomic Length of Pull: 13.5" for comfortable and stable handling.

Important Compatibility Notes: The P365 Ultra-Light Chassis is designed for use with specific P365 slides, including P365XL, TACOPS, and P365 FUSE. It is not compatible with short (standard) P365 slides or 12-15 round magazines, working optimally with 17-21 round P365 magazines.

The Flux Defense P365 Ultra-Light Chassis System is available now through authorized dealers and directly from the company. More information and specifications can be found at fluxdefense.com
