TFB Review: Strike Industries Hexion Tech Seeker Red Dot Sight
As a guy who’s been shooting iron sights on handguns since the mid-’90s, it took me a while to adapt to pistol-mounted optics. This was due to procrastination and resistance to putting in the time it takes to adjust. But all these high-speed heroes couldn’t be wrong, so I wound up spending countless hours in the living room drawing and dry firing at characters on the television screen until I could pick up that dot quickly and consistently, subliminally convincing Becky of my deep-seated distaste for the housewives of whatever city she happened to be watching that day. In time, I started to prefer shooting with an optic, as being target-focused made more sense to me, and everything started moving a little faster. Great, now I want a dot on all my handguns and those that come in for review. Do you see where I’m going here? This can add up quickly. That’s where the Hexion Tech Seeker comes in and does so at an MSRP of $99.95.

Fudd Friday: Harrington & Richardson Just Don't Get No Respect
Most people would more-or-less agree on the names of the great American gunmakers. Remington, Winchester, Colt, Browning, Smith & Wesson and Savage if you’re talking about the true pioneers of modern mass firearms manufacturing. Ruger and Mossberg if you want to add a couple who joined in the 20th century. But there’s one company with a history that stretches all the way back to the 1870s, building designs that survived for more than 100 years. That company is Harrington & Richardson, aka H&R, and it’s a company that deserves more respect—especially for its single-shot rifles and shotguns.
The HK 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Knife
The fact that Heckler & Koch is celebrating 75 years may have escaped some, but their HK 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Knife is now available for everyone. In short, it features a hand-forged Damascus steel blade from Böker, with each knife individually engraved and numbered from 1 to 75. Only 75 of these knives will ever be made (I wonder where they got that number from?).

The New Mimic Speed9 - 60 Round Submachine Gun
Every now and then, we get to experience new ideas in the firearms industry, and I think this is one of those moments. Introducing the Mimic Speed9, with a patent pending 60-round, double direction 9x19mm magazine designed with the same dimensions as a standard AR-15 magazine, allowing it to fit familiar platforms and standard mag pouches.
Smith & Wesson Model 1854 Now Available In .45-70
Smith & Wesson has announced an addition to its Model 1854 series with two new variants chambered in bone-crushing .45-70 Government. The Model 1854 combines classic American lever gun aesthetics with enhancements to meet the needs of modern shooters. While the Model 1854 has been available in .44 Rem Mag, .45 Colt, and .357 Magnum, .45-70 is a welcome addition as you never know when you’ll run into an angry tyrannosaurus rex in the backcountry. Seriously, .45-70 means business.
GP Series Silent Launched VOG-25 Grenades
The Soviet Union and Russia have a long history of developing and utilizing suppressed weapon systems. Various suppressed weapons, including Kalashnikov rifles, machine guns, and even silent mortar systems, are currently in service. The first Soviet silent grenade launchers were the Tishina and the Canary. These systems used a special blank cartridge to propel a piston that launched a grenade, significantly reducing the sound generated upon firing.

Concealed Carry Corner: Types of Non-Lethal Items
Welcome back to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we talked about the importance of less-than-lethal options when carrying a firearm. That article sets up the concept for this week’s article, so be sure to click the link here if you happened to miss last week’s article. This week, I want to continue talking about less lethal options since they are not all created equally, especially when it comes from a legality standpoint. From last week’s comment section, it seems like some completely understand the goal of less lethal, where others don’t grasp it, which is perfectly fine. That’s why it’s important to talk about the bigger picture to get a complete understanding. Let’s take a closer look at types of non-lethal items.
AR Pistols are Returning: NEW Springfield Armory Saint Victor Pistol
After a period of some hot-and-cold legislation on whether braces are legal or not - or your AR-15 pistol is actually an SBR or not - we’re hopefully in the clear where we can have AR-15 pistols again in all of their glory. As a result, we are seeing manufacturers bring back inspiring AR-15 pistol options. This includes Springfield Armory with their new Saint Victor Pistol in 5.56 NATO that was announced today.

TFB Behind the Gun #161: ACE Virtual Shooting First Impressions
After being morbidly curious about the ACE Virtual Shooting Simulator (Ace XR) constantly being advertised on the internet, I went ahead and bit the virtual bullet and decided to try it out for myself. To help me express how I feel about the platform so far, I’ve brought on fellow podcaster Bryce from The Carry Handle podcast to talk about the game, its hardware, and how well it fits into modern handgun training and practice. The ACE XR is currently only available for the Meta Quest 2, 3S, and 3, and in addition to the cost of the console itself, you’ve got a few other considerations to factor in to figure out whether or not this training system might be for you. Hopefully, this discussion today between me and today’s guest will help clear some of that up for you.

TFB Review: Magnum Research 1911 - Does A Better 1911 Exist?
Few guns are more unapologetically American than the 1911, yet the Magnum Research 1911 is made in Israel. Does this make it a lesser 1911? How does it stack up against the 1911s I’ve previously used? Is it worth someone spending their hard-earned money on? All these questions and more were reeling through my mind as I went to pick up the 1911G Magnum Research had just shipped me. After testing it for a few months, I’ve taken it to the range multiple times and can confidently say why you should or should not purchase a Magnum Research 1911 pistol. Let’s get into it.
POTD: Shooting the Barrett MRADELR .416 Barrett at 1085 Yards
Photo Of The Day - It’s one thing to write about firearms, it’s another to shoot one. That is very true when it comes to certain firearms most people never ever come close to, like the Barrett MRADELR. I’ve shot the Barrett M107 A1, suppressed and with a Pulsar Thermal riflescope, in .50 BMG and after a visit to Boulder City, Nevada, and the SHOT Show 2025 Industry Day at the Range, I can now add the MRADELR in 416 Barrett to the list - also suppressed.
NSSF Seeks To Block Maryland's Gun Industry Accountability Act
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is busy, as usual, not just promoting the American firearms industry through promotional work, but also fighting attempts by lawmakers to shut the industry down. The latest battleground is Maryland, where the NSSF is looking to block the Gun Industry Accountability Act.
Wheelgun Wednesday: Nimschke’s "Black Beauty" Headed to Auction
The Colt Single Action Army is the definitive revolver. Custer made his last stand with it. Billy the Kid died by one, assuming he actually died in 1881. Teddy Roosevelt wielded it in battle. Patton led the Allies to victory with one. Now an extremely rare specimen is going up for auction through Rock Island Auction Company on May 2, 2025.
Increasing The Range Of The AGS Automatic Grenade Launchers
To better compete with Western analog systems and address contemporary trends, NPO Pribor developed a new grenade, the VOG-30D 7P36D, in 2013 and adopted in 2023. This advancement has increased the firing range of the AGS-17 and AGS-30 automatic grenade launchers by approximately 25% due to improvements in the grenade's aerodynamic design.

It’s not often we see extraordinary projects like this in our Photo Of The Day. This single shot rifle uses 114gr of powder to push a 300gr A-Tip bullet, out of a short and quite lightweight build.

DOJ and ATF Repeal FFL Zero Tolerance Policy
Following President Trump's Executive Order instructing Attorney General Pam Bondi to examine government actions that infringe upon Americans’ Second Amendment rights, especially those enacted by the Biden administration, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have repealed a Federal Firearms Administrative Action Policy known as the Zero Tolerance Policy.

Colorado "Sin Tax” On Guns, Ammo Is In The NRA's Sights
If Colorado’s so-called “sin tax” on ammunition and firearms has got you irritated, there’s good news: The NRA is finally stepping up with a lawsuit against the state’s government, trying to force them to drop the additional fees that are being charged on all ammo sold in the Centennial State.

As you may notice, the Beretta NARP is shown above, chambered in 6.5 Grendel.
TFB Review: Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 - The 380 Auto Reimagined
The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 is by all metrics a reimagined pistol from the ground up, but to get to the final product that we have before us today, there was quite a journey that occurred. The original Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 came out around 2010. Simple, tiny, and functional, it was the embodiment of pocket carry. These original models lacked frills and upgrades because they were meant to be basic, affordable, and reliable. Clamor from shooters wanting more brought us the M&P Bodyguard 380. This, in a sense, was a “2.0 variant” without the moniker. It was ever-so-slightly larger, more ergonomic, but the same capacity.

POTD: AKS-74U and SG552 - Beach Ballistics
Thanks to Beach Ballistics we have a pretty fancy Photo Of The Day to share. In my opinion the AKS-74U is the coolest AK ever, but I admit I’ve never fired one and probably never will. A friend of mine owns a Swiss SIG SG552, so I’m more familiar with that. All I could wish for was a better trigger and a free-floating barrel, but I guess it works for grunts and the special forces alike so who am I to complain?
The Rimfire Report: A Closer Look at the “New” HK G36 22LR
Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! In this ongoing series, we cover anything and everything rimfire, including ammo, history, and, of course, new guns. While it may be “new” for the reorienting USA division of Heckler & Koch, today’s rifle has garnered a lot of recent interest from the wider community, so I secured a T&E copy for a full review here on TFB. Today, we’ll start at the beginning and take a closer look at this “new” rifle, its brief history so far, and what the rifle has to offer just on the surface. In subsequent articles, we’ll also test it for reliability, accuracy, and all that other good stuff. For now, let's take a look at the HK G36 22LR rifle’s humble beginnings - from the German airgun company Umarex.
We Accuracy Tested the FN SCAR, SIG MCX-SPEAR, and Steyr DMR
In this video, Martin from Austria Arms and I put three of the most talked-about 7.62 battle rifles head-to-head in a real-world accuracy test. We’re talking the FN SCAR 17 Heavy, the SIG MCX-SPEAR, and the brand-new Steyr DMR. All three are piston-driven, modular rifles from top-tier manufacturers—but how do they actually perform on paper? We shot them side-by-side with the same ammo, from the same distance, and the results might surprise you. One of these rifles is supposed to be 1 MOA accurate. Did it deliver? Did any of them? Watch and find out.
