Blaser Unveils The R8 Professional 2.0 Straight-Pull Rifle
Blaser is not a name that pops up too often in TFB’s news articles, but it’s that time again as they have announced the launch of their R8 Professional 2.0. This is a straight-pull bolt-action rifle said to redefine durability and performance in the harshest hunting environments. Described as the toughest iteration ever of the iconic R8 series, this rifle combines cutting-edge technology with rugged functionality. I don’t own a Blaser, but I sometimes borrow them, and I like them quite a lot.
The R8 Professional 2.0 features a full synthetic stock built to withstand extreme conditions, offering hunters a robust platform for challenging terrains. Its adjustable comb, which can be fine-tuned with the push of a button, and two optional stock modules allow for personalized ergonomics, ensuring the perfect shooting position for every user. This feature is very welcome, especially for some specialty optics like thermals.
A standout feature of the R8 Professional 2.0 is its DLC A+ coating on the external barrel surface. DLC is short for Diamond-Like Carbon. This advanced coating provides exceptional hardness, superior corrosion resistance, and low maintenance requirements, while giving the barrel a sleek, matte black finish.
