About Finch Arms

Finch Arms is designing the F9, a slimline roller delayed DA/SA handgun. It's about the same size as a Hellcat Pro, but it holds 2 more rounds and has a half inch longer barrel. This is possible by using a double-stack, double-feed magazine with a special spring design. The magazine is at a steeper angle than the grip, allowing a longer barrel relative to the overall size. Roller delayed blowback will reduce recoil compared to a typical tilting-barrel action and the fixed barrel will allow a high degree of mechanical accuracy.
The F9 is still being developed and I am looking for a business partner.

What makes Finch Arms unique?

There is a huge untapped market for a slimline DA/SA handgun. There is also a market for any gun that is not another polymer framed, striker fired, tilting barrel handgun. Any gun that has less recoil, higher capacity and a longer barrel than any other gun in the same size and weight class will be extremely popular, especially for concealed carry and competition shooting. It also has a stylish retro minimalist aesthetic, and excellent ergonomics.

Finch Arms F9 Technical Details:

  • Roller delayed blowback. Single roller, based on the Korriphila HSP-701
  • 4.8" tall x 6.6" long x 1.1” wide
  • 4.25" barrel
  • 17+1 9mm Double stack, double feed magazine
  • Modular serialized chassis
  • DA/SA, to decock the gun, just push down the hammer
  • It should be very soft shooting, due to the light slide, roller delay, low bore axis, and buffer spring
  • Serialized chassis insert will allow modularity with additional slide and grip lengths, and caliber
  • To deckock the slide, simply press down the hammer
  • Optics ready
  • Minimal external screws, pins, and controls
  • Weighs around 22-25 oz with aluminum grip

Reminds me of my unstoppable Ruger P94&95's. The pictures look like vapor ware – article says is it on the drawing board? Hopefully the slide is milled steel? Is the trigger staged or a stop-/firm snap then bang? The Dual Ambidextrous Magazine seems high on the frame – as a south paw this is nice; however, will it drop the magazine every time the trigger is pulled making THIS A SINGLE SHOT SEMI AUTOMATIC? Is there an estimate of cost yet? Idea – perhaps Mr. Finch could partner with Ruger – they know how to make innovative, high quality handguns at unbeatable prices.🙂

The HK P9S pistol had roller locking 50 years ago, and was available in 9mm OR 45 acp.
