New for 2025 is the Beretta A400 L Sporting semi-auto shotgun, with a new ergonomically upgraded European walnut stock and forend design, featuring an enhanced and enlarged checkering area and an ambidextrous palm swell for superior grip and control in all clay target applications. Based on Beretta’s A400 action and using the B-Link gas system, the A400 L Sporting cycles 36% faster than previous models, helping shooters engage targets more quickly. The action is combined with Beretta’s Steelium Plus barrel, which is designed to manage recoil and maintain consistent shot patterns.

Beretta Shotguns @ TFB:

One of the more noticeable features of the A400 L Sporting is its engraved receiver. The nickel-plated surface includes scroll and floral patterns set against a darkened background, adding a level of visual detail more commonly seen on collectible shotguns.

The shotgun comes with a Grade 2.5+ European walnut stock, shaped for comfort and control to support a stable grip for various clay shooting disciplines. The bolt, extended handle, and release are all enlarged for easier use, with the bolt finished in DLC for added durability during frequent use.

"The A400 L Sporting was built to deliver uncompromising performance with the feel serious competitors expect,” said Caleb McMillen, Beretta USA Head of Hunting. “It’s engineered for champions but styled for those who appreciate a firearm that performs as beautifully as it looks.”

I get the feeling that this may announce the end of the A400 and unveiling of the A500. Special Editions to mark the transition?
