POTD: Custom Daniel Defense With ASE Utra Suppressors
It’s time for TFB’s Photo Of The Day, so let’s explain what we’re looking at. The rifle is a Daniel Defense from the DD4 family, which got itself a spray can job. The riflescope is the now-discontinued Zeiss V8 1.1-8x, with a 36mm tube. That’s a lot larger than most LPVOs, and it’s sad they don’t make it any longer, as it’s clearly one of the best LPVOs ever made. The secondary optic is a red dot from Shield Sights, all in a Spuhr Cantilever mount.
The suppressors are all from ASE Utra, a Finnish company and a leading manufacturer of high-quality firearm suppressors, renowned for their innovative design and superb performance.
The O.D. Green model is the DUAL762-BL Gen2 for 7.62. The one in the middle in FDE is Ase Utra’s DUAL556 Short-BL in 5.56, which works perfectly with the DD. The smallest one in Coyote is the brand new DUAL556-MINI Gen2 for 5.56. So new, I haven’t tried it yet.
I run all of these with AU’s Quick Detach mounts, the Borelock .223/5.56 Muzzle Brake. These models are widely used by military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters. The flow-through design is said to be optimal for semi and fully automatic rifles.
This DD rifle is going in for another spray can treatment. All suggestions will be considered.
