JMAC Customs Releases AK 1913 Dust Cover For Zastava M85 And M92

JMAC Customs has released its new   1913 Dust Cover Assembly for the popular Zastava M85 and M92 family of AK pistols, or rifles if you’re into doing paperwork. The West Virginia-based company claims its full-length Picatinny assembly, trusted to hold zero on your aiming devices, is precision-designed for versatility and reliability. Having had vast experience with their products, I’m inclined to believe them.

There is no denying that the AK is a formidable platform, and Zastava Arms has been in the game since the days of Yugoslavia, rather than Serbia. So, it should come as no surprise that their lineup of AK variants has become a popular option in the U.S. market, especially with imports from certain countries being banned or restricted. Nonetheless, Zastava’s assortment of AK platform firearms suffers from the same design limitations as the original AK-47, but times have changed, and we all want to shoot our beloved old faithful with the creature comforts of modern technology. That’s precisely where JMAC Customs steps in.

 JMAC Customs promises that the new M85 and M92 versions of its 1913 Dust Cover Assembly are engineered to transform your AK into a versatile platform for mounting optics and accessories. Having been designed to interface with the company’s MMS Lower Mount, this new piece works as part of a system that opens up options, making it easier than ever to attach red dots, prisms, scopes, magnifiers, lasers, or anything else you want to hang off your gun, and all without sacrificing the rugged reliability you expect from the Kalashnikov platform.

This is supported by a proprietary locking system that provides a consistent return to zero every time the cover is opened and closed. According to JMAC Customs, the dust cover closes and locks tight as a bank vault, with the unique octagonal cam adjustment hardware ensuring a secure fit, even if screws loosen during heavy use. This fully adjustable, patent-pending system adapts to a wide range of AKs without requiring any permanent modification. A two-piece mount securely locks into the rear trunnion, while the adjustable front mount facilitates precise alignment with the receiver, “eliminating common issues like bolt carrier interference and shell casing ejection problems.”

Rounding out the cover are meticulously designed lightning cuts, meant to reduce weight while maintaining structural integrity.
