The Hush Puppy Returns: B&T’s Slide-Locking SIG P226 / P365

At the core of the system is a modified SIG P226 that features a slide lock mechanism. When engaged, the slide remains closed during firing, preventing both cycling noise and spent case ejection, an important consideration for applications where minimizing overall signature is critical. Disengaging the lock returns the pistol to normal semi-automatic operation, allowing standard cycling and ejection.

The P226 pistol comes equipped from the factory with a SIG Romeo-X Pro enclosed red-dot sight, mounted exceptionally low in the slide. SIG’s mounting solution allows the optic to co-witness with standard-height iron sights, eliminating the need for suppressor-height sights and keeping the overall profile of the pistol compact and streamlined. The platform also supports modern weapon-mounted lights and laser aiming modules, further expanding its operational flexibility.

Completing the package is the B&T Hush Puppy suppressor, a compact 9mm design measuring just 3 inches in length. The suppressor does not require a booster or Nielsen device, relying instead on the locked-slide firing mode for reliable operation. To maximize sound reduction in such a small footprint, the suppressor uses user-replaceable wipes, with the option to add ablative material between the wipes when additional suppression is needed.

This is another combination I want just because of how cool it looks. Plus, I really want to play with the slide lock and compare the difference in the noise it makes compared to semi-automatic.

I think the two boxes of B&T 158gr Subsonic ammunition that’s included in the purchase would burn up in an instant - for science!
