[SHOT 2026] GLOCK GEN 6 COA First Look
Back in December when Glock announced the new Generation 6 Glock 17, 19 and 45 one of the questions many asked online is will there be a GEN 6 COA? The COA, if you’re not familiar, is a collaboration between Glock and AIMPOINT which was launched at SHOT Show 2025.
The COA concept combines a new enclosed emitter pistol red dot sight (the COA) and a new pistol reflex sight mounting footprint called the A-CUT. The A-CUT allows the COA to be mounted deeper and more firmly into the slide. Check out our full review of the COA here.
When the Glock Gen 6 was introduced there was no mention of the COA or the A-CUT so many wondered if and when we’d see a Gen 6 with COA. I stopped by the Glock booth on the first day of SHOT Show and fought my way through the crowds to the displays and there, sure enough, were a pair of Gen 6 pistols, a 17 and 19, both fitted with an Aimpoint COA.
The Gen 6 Glocks ship with plastic adapters, which act like crush washers, which help with mounting of RMR and DPP footprint optics. Speaking to Glock they explained that when mounting the COA using the A-CUT there is no need for the plastic adapter plates which are used to shim between the slide and optic when mounting other optics footprints.
The Gen 6 COAs aren’t yet listed on Glock’s site but we should see them later this spring. We don’t yet have a price point, perhaps like the initial Gen 6 guns which were priced at the same level as the Gen 5 MOS, the Gen 6 COA might have an MSRP around that of the Gen 5 COA. We will of course update you guys once we have more details.
