Caracal USA Wins Belize Contract for CAR814 A2 Patrol Rifles
Caracal USA has been awarded a supply contract with multiple government agencies in Belize for its CAR814 A2 Patrol rifle, the company announced Thursday. The deal adds Belize to a growing list of Caribbean and Central American customers for the Idaho-based company.
Contract terms were not disclosed. Caracal USA did not specify which agencies will receive the rifles, listing them only as "various government agencies in Belize." The company worked through its Caribbean regional representative, I.I. & E, to secure the deal.
The CAR814 A2 Patrol is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and runs a direct impingement, gas-operated action built to NATO manufacturing standards. It's designed for military and law enforcement duty use, built for duty use.
CEO Jeffrey Spalding said the award reflects the brand's expanding footprint in the region: "Our dedication to safety, reliability, and durability continues to showcase the quality of Caracal USA weapon systems."
The Belize contract follows a similar deal announced the same day. As TFB reported, Caracal USA separately secured a CMP9K contract in The Bahamas, a second win in the Caribbean on the same news cycle. The back-to-back announcements suggest the company is moving aggressively through I.I. & E to build a larger regional presence.
Caracal USA is the American subsidiary of Caracal International, headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The parent company has pursued government contracts across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East for years. The U.S. operation has taken a similar approach stateside, mixing law enforcement and government sales with a growing civilian product lineup that now includes the CSR bolt-action precision rifles and CMP pistol series.
The CAR814 platform itself has been around for some time, but Soldier Systems Daily reported that this marks its first confirmed Belizean government deployment. Caracal USA's ability to notch multiple government deals in rapid succession points to a distribution and bidding strategy that's paying off in the region.
