POTD: Ruger LCP MAX with ReadyDot Micro Reflex Sight
Micro pistols continue to evolve, and one of the more unconventional approaches is the integration of simplified optics, like the one seen in this Photo Of The Day. The Ruger LCP MAX shown here is equipped with the Ruger ReadyDot, a battery-free aiming solution designed around minimalism and reliability.
Instead of electronics, the ReadyDot uses a fiber optic system to gather ambient light and project a 15 MOA aiming dot. There are no buttons(!), no brightness settings, and no batteries to manage. The concept is straightforward. The sight automatically adjusts based on available light, reducing the need for user input and potential failure points. The use of this kind of pistol probably doesn't offer a lot of time and adjustments before the trigger has to be pulled.
The large dot size is clearly aimed at fast target acquisition at close distances, which aligns with the intended role of a pistol like the LCP MAX, as well as the caliber .380 Auto. The optic itself is said to be built to handle everyday carry, with a sealed, waterproof, and shock-resistant housing.

Is a 15 MOA dot too large, or just right for a pistol like this?
