POTD: The SIG Sauer HYP Rifle - The First .277 Fury AR10
The HYP Rifle is the latest rifle from SIG, capable of chambering the new SIG Fury Hybrid Ammunition. As you may know, the .277 Fury or 6.8×51mm Common Cartridge is a hybrid case ammunition working at a very high chamber pressure. The SIG Sauer HYP is the first direct impingement AR platform (DPMS pattern), that has been built for the SIG Fury ammunition.
At this time, very few details are known about this rifle, but the HYP is going to be priced way below the MCX-SPEAR, and it’s supposed to be released in 2025. The 20-round steel magazine looks very similar to the ones used by the Next Gen rifle.
Another new rifle is the 516-Mohawk, which you can find in another TFB article. The HYP rifle is not equipped with a left-hand charging handle like the Mohawk.

My concern is the 277 Fury may be the future of ammo in the same way the Sig P320 is the future of handguns.
