Trijicon SRO Goes Green: New 2.5 MOA Dot in Two Finishes

Trijicon has added a green dot variant to its SRO (Specialized Reflex Optic) lineup, answering what the company describes as customer demand for the option. The new model is available in a 2.5 MOA configuration and launches in both Matte Black and Coyote Brown anodized finishes.

The SRO has been a fixture in the competitive and target shooting world thanks to its large, unobstructive field of view and parallax-free glass, and the green dot version carries those same core traits forward.

Trijicon notes that the human eye is most sensitive to green wavelengths, making green dots appear brighter and easier to acquire in daylight, even at reduced brightness settings.

The company also points to better visibility in fog, haze, and against complex backgrounds, along with reduced eye strain during extended sessions and a clearer aiming point for shooters who deal with astigmatism or red-green color blindness.

The optic runs eight adjustable LED brightness settings, including two night vision-compatible modes and one super-bright mode, alongside an automatic brightness mode. Two button lock modes round out the controls: a Lock-Out mode that secures the auto-brightness setting for carry or hunting, and a Lock-In mode that holds a user-chosen brightness level indefinitely, the intended use case being competition. Battery life is rated at two years of continuous use at setting 4 of 8 on a single CR2032, which loads from the top for easy swaps without dismounting the optic.

The SRO Green Dot shares the same footprint as Trijicon's RMR, meaning it drops onto any RMR-cut slide without additional hardware in most cases. Shooters running Glock MOS, Springfield OSP, Walther PDP, or H&K VP9 Optics Ready pistols will need a Trijicon SRO mounting kit (AC32085). The housing is 7075-T6 forged aluminum, waterproof to 10 feet, and the optic is compatible with suppressor-height iron sights. Windage and elevation adjustments are tool-less, with 1 MOA per click and 150 MOA total travel.

Do you prefer a green dot over red on your pistol optic, and has that preference influenced any of your past purchasing decisions?

Ok for some reason I thought green was cool. But I prefer red dot.
